Has Anyone Had Successes With Press Releases?

Hello,

First off let me say I write Press Releases for my clients and myself. Most of my Press Releases get on the first page of Google News. Most of them get many views. Most over 1,000 views and most get between 20-30 clicks on the website that links to them.

None of my clients that I know of have ever had any huge success with Press Releases. After doing several for myself and not getting any leads to speak of I am starting to not believe that they work or else I am writing them in the wrong way.

I do believe that they are good backlinking juice. Outside of that I am finding less and less value in them. Writing Ezine Articles seems to be just as effective, if not more effective than a Press Release that cost between $50-150.

Your thoughts?

Used Press Release twice and they haven't work well for my projects.
After been distributed my Press Releases were all over the net
but generated a few number of visits.

As for backlink juice after 2, 3 months they were the same as nothing.

    I won't use PR again.

    Hi Matthew,

2 things come to mind right off the bat...

    1. How are you writing your press releases? If you do not have a good hook then you won't get good conversions. This works for both online and offline press releases.
    2. Are you executing solid niche keyword research to capture targetted traffic?

    Best of Luck,

    Justin

Some luck--- but they're a little like spam to a managing editor. Easier in a smaller, vertical market to get published.

Whenever I do a SEO project for my clients, Press Releases are ALWAYS a part.

    Why?
    1. Branding
    2. Link diversity before I do what i always do and that is not some automated BS backlinks like they all are promoting.

SO I make it part off my business

We have clients that get only a couple of views per day. And we have clients that get 300-400 views or more daily. In my experience it's all about what you write about.
