Walk the talk, type the talk. . .Conversions through conversations

And everyone in between...

We all know that the best way to connect with our readers is to talk to them not type at them.people don't want to be lectured the just want to chill out and shoot the shed.

This can be a hard skill to learn…

I recently bought Dragon NaturallySpeaking as a way of being able to increase my productivity while being stuck long hours in traffic to and from the office.

Even though my reasons for getting the program were completely unrelated to writing copy I couldn't help think that it could be a useful tool for some people to develop conversationalist style of writing. So my question is this:

Have any of you worked with this program? Would you think it's a good tool in order to help some people out with developing a conversational tone in the writing?

I just bought the program today and I think it's a blast!

Edit: LOL the entire above post was typed using the program. As you can see, it isn't perfect, but it learns as you go and I've only fiddled with it for 30 mins or so.

Thats pretty cool. A few mistakes, but nothing horrible.

I dont use it myself, but I could see it being beneficial.

Its a lot easier and quicker to rattle off ideas than it is to write them (for me). I always have the trouble of forgetting where I was going, or completely forgetting the next idea in line because I am writing it out by hand.

Might just have to pick up one up. Thanks.

Ahhh....you are certainly onto something here. Writing in a conversational way is exactly what needs to be done if you want to connect. I don't use the software, but I try to write the same way I speak. It seems to work pretty well for me.

    • I love it. It has increased my productivity massively. Many of my clients have technical topics with strange words and funky spellings. Once you train Dragon with the proper spelling it reproduces it the same way every time. Fantastic.

I am still getting used to the Android version called FlexT9. It seems a little slow to respond but the accuracy is good.
