I agree. These are good choices.

I'm also partial to Jay Abraham's genius in direct response.

That's not an easy one to answer, but Gary Bencivenga is definitely in the top three.

Man, so many to name. I agree with Eugene Schwartz, Gary Halbert, John Carlton and Jay Abraham, but they are so many others...
    Don't know where to begin.

        Tough question.

Some headlines are just timeless and they may not come from someone who wrote many sales letters. Many are professional copywriters.

Top 3 headlines is "might" be an easier question because you can measure ROI (but you'll still have to factor in inflation to really judge).

Anyway, here's a few more names to the pot ...

        Ted Nicholas
        Gary Bencivenga
        Joe Sugarman
        Maxwell Sackheim
        Gary Halbert
        Mel Martin
        Bill Jayme
        David Ogilvy
        Robert Collier
        Vic Schwab
        Ralph Gizberg

... and there are SO MANY MORE ...

Wasn't it Gary Halbert who put together the 2 full-page advertisement for his ad company?

100 Top Headlines... it was brilliant

He wrote a summary of each one, why it worked... reading that ad is an education itself.

At the end of it he basically said 'Guys... look what I can do... Buy me '
