What exactly do you do with PLR articles?

What exactly do you do with the PLR articles you purchase? I know you could re-write them and use/sell them, but what else could you do?

Also, if you use a PLR article on your site, will it help with SEO? I know it doesn't help as much as an original, but does it help at all?

I don't think adding PLR (duplicate content) to your site is going to help with SEO.

What I sometimes do is create new eBooks using articles as chapters, or even take several PLR eBooks, rip them apart, and create a new book from them. Use your imagination...

All kinds of things you could do. Combine articles into an ebook as mentioned, or short reports, even give away reports for squeeze pages. You could turn them into audio's, podcasts or even video's. Use them to fill membership sites, create e-courses, ect, ect.

Could use them to make offline products, no dupe content penalties there. I was just at a local bookstore the other day and looking over the selection I was thinking, content from the net such as digital could fill up the place. I'm surprised no one has taken something like PLR content and created a real book. Of they have and I've never seen it, or didn't notice.

Some people have said they proved it could be used and did not suffer any penalties such as dupe content.

      Excellent advice.

I just want to add another point. In my opinion PLR is nothing for beginners but for advanced marketers who know how to use it.

PLR is a great way to leverage things. The biggest advantage of PLR is quantity and instant availability. Obviously you can get 5-10 times more PLR articles than original work for the same price. You can buy PLR packs for almost any topic in masses.

This makes it possible to create a huge amount of different sites, for example feeder sites (like blog farms) that redirect traffic and links to your money site (which has original content of course).

Another use are the dozens of Web 2.0 properties. Principle is the same, get as many pages up there with your links on it.

PLR is great to scale up things. Consider that most people that buy PLR don't use it anyway because they don't know how to use it. Most people simply never do anything with it. I also would recommend using one of the less known PLR content providers to increase the chances that not too many marketing pros make use of the same content.

I still have PLR content on my hard disk that is now two years old but when I check with copyscape, I often get zero results, means nobody has used it. Or I only get 3 or 4 alerts. If you go with the highly popular PLR sites you get 30 or more alerts.

Here is a stupid question. What is PLR and what does it stand for.

Avoid them like the plague. Hire someone to write for you or write original content for yourself then turn around sell your own PLR!

There is nothing at all wrong with using PLR, as long as you understand the concept. There are many products we as consumers use every day manufactured as "private label" and redistributed with labeling. For example, this "private label" concept is very common in the offline publishing, education, cleaning products, vitamins, food, manufacturing and the automotive industry to name a few. Think of PLR as the raw material to develop your own products and branding.

Obviously, posting un-edited PLR articles on your site is useless.I sometimes get the "writers-block" and cannot think of anything useful to write.

PLR articles are good to use as guidelines for your own articles, some sort of raw material. If you have a newsletter, you could add them to your autoresponder.

I think most people just rewrite them in their own words. You certainly wouldn't want to upload them to your site in their original form.

Make a membership site and put your PLR articles there. Ask writers to rewrite them and supply your members on a monthly basis. Of course, you can charge your members monthly as well. Just another way to use them.

If you have a membership site where you run training which is in line with the Private Label Right articles you've purchased, it is a good resource with slight modification.
