Copywriting Templates or Desktop Copy Coach?

Hi all,
I am considering either the Copy Coach course from Makepeace or the Copywriting Templates course from Garfinkel/McLeod to add in my arsenal.

Which one is better for:

1. A big picture look at copywriting and learning to spot good copy vs. bad

2. Swipe files

3. Comprehensiveness ?

For your context, I already know the basics of copywriting from Paul Hancox's awesome course and I'm looking for something that provides some good swipes and templates as well as a different perspective on writing copy.

Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't give you a fair comparison as I only own the newer version of Copy Coach (Quick-Start Copywriting) and the older, non-Mcleodised Copywriting Templates.

With that said, and considering what you're looking for, Clayton's course would seem to be the better fit for you.

I found Copywriting Templates a little beginner-focused, it'd be ideal for a non-copywriter wanting a quick education, but if you've already got the basics down you might not get much out of it.

While Clayton's course is an encyclopedic copywriting tome, covering just about anything you could want to know about writing to sell.

  • One of the benefits of Copywriting Templates is the on-going monthly training which consists of a series of 3 or 4 weekly videos. For example, one month Kevin Rogers explained how his team uses video throughout the sales funnel including opt-ins, web promotions, and celebrity proof.

They also have marketers like Susan Bratton who gave a very detailed presentation on how they develop products and roll them out. She works on a product for a year or more to get it right before they release it. You don't hear that in your average WSO.

Marketing is not a battle of products. It is a battle of perceptions.
