Cool share, thank you. Whatever the 'research' behind them, it's pretty obvious that there are some powerful words in there. "Acumen" sounds so strong; "Innate" is also great. And the "I verb" ones are also a great way to think about writing, sort of putting words in their mouths/brains/hearts. That's what effective copy is all about, "winning the battle for hearts and minds!"

  Thanks for posting this. But don't some of these words violate the rule that says you should always make your copy as easy to read as possible?
  
  Examples: "acumen," "burgeon," "exultant"
  
  These seem like words that wouldn't get you a very favorable Flesch-Kincaid score.
  
  Then again, I suppose it's all about who you're writing to.

  You're right - use power words that people "get"
  
  Having said that - I tested a piece using a couple of $50.00 power verbs.
  
  No other changes. And no other variables (same audience, offer, traffic etc.).
  
  I wasn't trying to show off - I just wondered if it would make any difference.
  
  To my astonishment it did - the response jumped up.
  
  I wouldn't ever overdo it - but done very sparingly it can work.
