Too Many Testimonials - How to Use them All?

Hi there,

I've got about 120 great testimonials for the marathon training product I'm writing a sales letter for

http://thecopynewbie.com/marathon

My question is - how many should I be featuring on the sales page. I'm conscious of balancing a ton of social proof against having an enormous sales letter that goes on forever with testimonial after testimonial.

The idea of linking to a separate testimonials page (perhaps that opens in a new window) is something Im considering but nervous that it would lead prospects away from the main sales letter and distract them.

Has anyone come up with any neat ideas for how to achieve the perfect balance?

thanks in advance.

    Paraphrase them. Cut them down.

    Or...

Pick out the best morsels only
and use these. The one's which
represent you in the best light
    possible and discard the rest.

    Best,

      Thanks Mark.

So in your opinion there is such a thing as "too many"?

Appreciate you taking the time to help.

      Happy New Year

    A couple more options:

You can have a sidebar running down the entire length of the sales page filled with testimonials.

And/or you can put them at the very bottom of your pitch with links in between every one or two to pull them back up to the order form section or just to act as "buy now" links.

      Now there's a cracking idea!

Thanks for that. Where do I send my check?

I'm curious... who in here has paid $37.00 for a single pair of socks?

When someone says in their headline: "all for less than a pair of socks" I'm thinking $5.00 (and less) and NOT $37.00!

7- 10 testimonials of decent length.

Any more and it's pointless. No one's going to read through 100+

Just because you have millions of testimonials doesn't mean you have to use the mall.........you can mention tho that you have them.

Here´s how copywriting legend Gary Bencivenga used a lot of testimonials in the copy for his The Gary Bencivenga Seminar...

Perfect way to use a lot of testimonials... without interrupting the flow of your copy or lower response.

    Good luck!
