We got a smack down last night with snow and ice.

Frankly...

I'm too lazy to go out in the cold.

Thought I'd give you some of my best tips to help you in your copywriting.

These aren't hard rules that you have to follow...but try them and watch your response rates skyrocket!

Hey, they're free -- and you won't have to worry about asking for a refund

A little about headlines.

1. Put a name in your headline or paragraph header -- like I did in my title for this post.

Virtually everyone will read on if they see a name...it builds curiosity and makes them want to find out more.

It's irresistible.

I once did this headline...

"Lisa, Here's The Pictures I Promised If You Left Me"

Response was through the roof.

2. Put a number at the beginning of your headline.

"1,249 Reasons To Use K-Y Jelly"

A number is another thing that always grabs attention.

It's a psychological trigger that people can't skip over.

3. Make your headline so it is justified to be square. In other words make it appear to fill a box.

4. Put quotations around your headline. It makes it seem like a quote...quotes hold more weight.

5. Capitalize the first letter of each word in your headline.

About bullets.

It's a proven fact that people recognize things in three's.

Any more than 3 points and they start thinking too much.

Any less than 3 and your bullets seem lacking.

Try and keep all your bullet points to groups of 3.

Sales letters.

I'm a short ad type person.

I take and melt everything down to the main benefit...then I go with it.

It takes time to get down to basics...it's a process..just keep asking yourself what you're actually selling, then focus on 1 key point.

If you decide to add more benefits...keep everything down to 3.

In closing.

Seems there's a lot of copywriters who think they need to drone on in a long drawn out conversation on why they're selling what they are.

Your readers don't have time to tickle your ego. They don't care how great you are with words...

Stay warm.
