Anyone here written for the office-space lease market?

While searching for an office for my copywriting business, I noticed there are TONS of office-lease companies. And most of these companies don't seem to place a premium on copy.

I'm thinking about sending a sales letter to some of these companies to see if they're interested in my services. But I'm wondering if this is a good market to target.

Has anyone written for this or a similar market? Do you think targeting these companies would be a good idea? Or would I be wasting my time?

    Yes there is a market for this type of business - I've done copy for smaller businesses who work from rented office spaces. Direct mail works, but even better, pick up the phone after you've sent it out.

    You might want to try the 'lumpy' parcel approach - works for Dan Kennedy and I'm pretty sure a few of the other top copywriters on this forum have used similar approaches.

    A lot of my clients are offline businesses, and bringing them into your service offerings is easy if you know how.

    Do these businesses have websites? If not, find a good web guy to work with (like I have) and set simple wordpress sites up and write copy for their site - like an 'all in one' package.

    You'd be surprised at how easy it is to sell someone a package where the headache of set up etc is taken care of - in my experience, businesses don't have the time to deal with several different vendors, and prefer to work with someone who does it all.

    • I've also done sales letters for office rentals companies.

      Arfa's advice on "lumpy" packages works extremely well.

      I used grabbers like "headache tablets" - with a subhead...

      "You won't need these with us - but if you feel you want all the hassle of leasing a long -term office they might be handy"

      The one that worked the best was - a portfolio in a "worn out" vanilla folder headed -

      Solicitors - Sue, Grabbit & Runne (yes humor did work).

      With stacks of "legal" type documents - marked "samples" - a long convoluted lease agreement, telephone, office machinery, office equipment, insurance contracts etc etc. And a massive "bill" from the solicitors.

      With a note saying - "You Don't Need All This Grief!"

      Then a crisp clean see thru folder - with a simple easy to read - one page agreement for the office rental company - with everything detailed - all inclusive.

      With a sales letter highlighting all the benefits and cost savings with a "scarcity" special offer on prices.

      It was great fun to do - and worked well.

      It sold over 90% of the available office space.

      Funny you guys should mention the "lumpy" package approach. I was actually going to do that. Just not sure what I want my object to be yet.

      Steve, that lease-agreement approach is genius! Inspiring stuff.

      arfasaira - I would love to offer all-in-one solutions. I just have to find a good web person to work with. I have a friend who does graphic design, so maybe I can put his ass to work.
