Caught this when I was doing some research . . .

Molsons Divergent Marketing

Clever way of framing the product by setting up different demographics for certain expectations and then letting your most viable prospects know how it benefits them directly.

As if beer didn't help men get women as it is

I didn't know Miller was bent as a ten bob note beer? Never knew that, the thought would never have crossed my mind.

Interesting read Eric - thank you.

      Cheers,

    Hi, Eric

Thanks for the share. Interesting read. The commentary at the bottom is great.

And I do love the line "It gets old. And it gets expensive, depleting funds that could go to a new set of of 20-inch rims."

Yep, bitches, 40s and hydraulic suspension units. That's what we'z about. Y'knowutimsayin?

P.S. When I read the first ad, for some reason I just couldn't help but think of this movie. (And it turned out to be more than the similarity of puppy dude to Eric Olsen!)

First... I like (nay, love) the concept. But not for the perceived intention.

I don't think the agency writers who wrote the ads were assuming men and women will never hear about the ad aimed at the other group. On the contrary...

I think it was the aim of the ads for EVERYONE to not only hear about both ads, but for women's groups to complain about it. IMO it's the print version of a viral video.

The ads are both about buzz and free publicity.

    2.5 cents

(And if my team came up with this for a client I'd be buying the rounds at the bar that lunch.)

This sort of advertising was done in the below commercial, except it was on TV so both men and women would see it. Maybe they wanted the controversy.

Loving the concept - Very interesting campaign.

Wondering how the results are like on their side. Does
serve itself as a pretty much "viral ad", just as Vin
    said.

Liking the "done for you" concept behind it all.
