Does Anyone Know a Great Sales Copy Letter Writer for a WSO or Thread?

Hi there,

I've purchased WSO's before and remember people directly referring to a really good sales copy writer that does most of the WSO's.

Problem is I never paid attention and can't remember which WSO mentioned them!

I could do it myself but far too busy.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction? As to who is well recognised/respected I don't really want to post a wanted ad just want to know who I need to go to.

Thanks!

I really have to smile that there is now a "WSO copywriting niche."

So there are special ways to write a sales letter for the WSO
section? I learn something new everyday.

      I know that's tongue-in-cheek, but...

Something I noticed on today's "Offline WSO of the Day" is the copy had a "OTO Sneak Preview" section:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...e-clients.html

Not something you're probably going to see elsewhere.

And rather ironic, if not slightly sad, that in a marketing forum there's so many people who whine and moan about nearly every aspect of marketing that the writer felt it necessary to include.

        My thoughts exactly. Well said.

There's a WSO copywriting niche that has developed in the last year or two. I haven't written for a client recently but I discovered last year with my own business that there's a different structure, sequence, and method of writing a WSO salesletter.

When I ran a standard salesletter that did very well with my house list for a WSO, it did just okay as a WSO.

When I made the "WSO friendly" changes, it almost tripled response rates from my WSO.

Ray, if you want to know more, shoot me an email.

      Take care,

      Mike

P.S. Joe's list of WSO copywriters is a solid place to start. I've heard solid things about all 3 of them.

I'm with Ray but I know you're right, Mike. But instead of emailing, let's just share the notes here so we can all learn. Isn't that the purpose of this forum?

Here are my "Surefire WSO Success Notes"

        Promise zero effort
        Promise outlandish income
Promise no cash necessary to start
Promise no need to own a website
        Promise no experience necessary
        Promise results overnight
        Make a blind offer

        Use lots of hypey adjectives
Use CB or Paypal screenshots, or videos

Use any kind of testimonial you can weasel out of fellow Warriors, the more posts they have, the better.

        Price it less than $10

        Done. Major WSO hit.

There's a good amount of it I picked up from the course WSO Tycoon which I highly recommend.

Seeing that it's not my product, out of respect to that product owner, I'm reluctant to divulge too much of what I learned from that course.

I'll give two tips that will point you in the right direction.

First, look at the WSOs that have the most views for the specific type of product or service you're thinking of offering.

Check your ego and personal opinions at the door and think tactically.

What are they doing in terms of social proof? What types of headline or grabbers are they using to get people to open the thread? What's the offer being made?

Second, look at how the salesletter is ordered. For example, with a WSO salesletter, it's very common to see the testimonials at the top or near the top of the salesletter. Why? For social proof which is fairly important to WSO buyers.

Bruce, that's kind of a blanket statement to make about WSOs.

While some marketers opted to go that route in the last 2-3 years, there's a good number of WSOs not doing this anymore or haven't ever done it from the get-go.

Set up correctly, those WSOs still do extremely well in terms of sales, listbuilding, or both.

In terms of my WSO... I pretty much didn't do any of your "Success Notes" with my CB Recon WSO, except a trial offer of $4.97 for the first month which was a loss leader.

It still converted at better than 10% (my house list converted at 13%+ with a standard salesletter but I do have a very positive rapport with my lists).

          Hope that helps,

          Mike

Spot on. But you might add "major WSO hit" can mean six figures - yeah $100,000 from a pissy little WSO.

One guy there - "Icun" - has grossed $1.2 Million - in a year. His stuff is worth a gander. Very slick. Says he only started in I.M. in January last year and still has a full-time job (as a soldier).

Oh yeah - when you say "price it less than $10". True. But the trick is to do a "dime sale" - start at a buck - to get a feeding frenzy going. Like throwing "chum" to sharks. That's how you get to "critical mass". That and a push from lots of affiliates.

Talking of sharks - that's a marlin in my avatar - not a Noah. Postcard from the 1930s - back in the days when there were plenty of giant marlin.
(read any of Zane Grey's fishing tales if interested. Some days he'd land several giant marlin and shoot dozens of large sharks).

        Hey Mike,

My comments were a little tongue-in-cheek since some of those
copywriters recommended to write copy for WSO were part
of my coaching program, meaning that I reviewed and critiqued
their copy before they were posted.

I'm not taking credit for their success but it's a little common
sense to write to the people you are targeting and to study
        other successful WSO etc.

I'm just a little surprised that a copywriter could be labeled
as good at writing WSO copy.

I've written successful WSO's for my own products and others
and helped my students do the same.

But from a marketing perspective it's all great for those on
the list since WSO's are so popular. So don't let my
intellectualizing get in the way of anyone marketing their
        services.

          Hey Ray,

          No problem at all.

I wasn't sure if you were being tongue in cheek or serious.

I figured if you were being serious, then I'd offer to help you as you've helped countless other copywriters (including me) with concise accurate answers over the years.

Since it was tongue in cheek... I appreciate it... it is amazing sometimes the media and things copywriters write copy or can specialize in.

          Take care,

          Mike

I appreciate the recommendation Mike since I didn't even know
there was a product of that nature.

Thanks also for your willingness to genuinely help. I've valued
our relationship over the years for sure.

What works in the WSO section can break some "rules".

And like Andrew mentioned - based on the audience, sometimes it's smart to do things "preemptively" that you'd never do otherwise.

Me? I like calling them Booger-Eaters when they misbehave.

And I would second Joe's list above. Laura, Mal and Judy have all written hot promotions for WSO's.

He's not exactly a "big name" around here, but Mike Hersh's copy looks good:

(I kind of disagree with his headline there but the rest of the copy looks nice)

Do you think a "OTO Sneak Preview" will be the new trend in WSO copies?
It used to be an element that always was hidden.
