Ad copy for ebay motors?

Hello all,

I'm looking for examples of ebay ad copy as I want to try to sell a specific car and want to make sure I capture the attention of every person that sees the auction. I would like to see if I can find an ad that reduces any buyer remorse and has an eye grabbing headline.

Thanks

If you're going to do battle in eBay motors (or regular eBay for that matter), you've got have the ammunition to know what REALLY works.

Not what people "think" will work. Or trying to get "creative."

Enter eBay Research Tools, eBay Market Data | Terapeak

Terapeak shows you the previous 365 days of closed eBay auctions. Imagine seeing EVERY ad, including how many bidders and what the car finally sold for.

Not only that, but you see group statistics, including sell-through rate and best times/days to sell.

If you're a copywriter, this is some of the best research data there is. Because it has the conversion data.

Not necessarily a creative strategy, but definitely a successful one.

It's one of the reasons the medical device eBay piece I wrote recently worked. I knew the price points in advance.

PS: People often want to know what research tools I use. This is one of of my favorites.

Great feedback! I've thought of doing this type of research and begin working on my ebay ad even before taking pictures of the actual car since I believe that will be the most important part of the auction process. I gotta get people's attention first before they start looking at the car.

I appreciate your suggestions and will begin looking at some of those expired auctions and see what fetched the most interest.

      Thanks again

I use Terapeak daily, and only see the full listings for the past 90 days (about the same as what eBay completed listings show.) After 90 days, only a brief summary of statistics show up.

The things I'm interested in maybe show up only a couple of times per year.

Is there something I'm missing there?

Rick has a good point. Don't play around when you are talking about serious stuff like this. I have a mechanical engineering degree and still wouldn't pretend to know nearly enough to just go in there and start putting stuff on paper. Those kinds of analytics speak volumes more than clever copywriting ever would, especially if you are doing ebay motors for a niche.

Make sure you are only marketing and selling the best pointers of the car. This is what I learned from the experience I had in the motor trade.
