Which 'non-copy' book have you learnt the most about copy from?

Sure we've all read our Hopkins, our Schwartz, our Ogilvy and we've learnt a ton in the process...

But the question is, which 'non-copy' books have been an inspiration too?

And why?

For me, I always go back to Hemingway's Old Man and the Sea. It says everything it needs to with such economy. There's no waffle or words out of place. It digs in and it gets you emotionally... just like good copy should.

So, what's yours?

i LOVED the Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco, it's probably the single best
book i've ever read on what it takes to become ultra successful and wealthy
using tried-and-true principles... and not "pie in the sky" hype like 99% of internet
    marketers use.

i promise, you want to learn how to build true riches... this book is a goldmine.

I like to skim through Hemingway's By-line, his collected journalism. I love the way he brings people and places to life, creates emotion and backs everything up with solid facts. Gets both the right and left brains firing just like a good sales letter must. You have to supply your own call to action, though he sure sold me on a trip to Pamplona.

Influence by Robert Cialdini was a great insight into the customer's mind from a non-marketing perspective.
