HELP : need to provide kinetic script sample

A potential client wants to convert some materiel such as existing sales letters into video scripts.

Infact, he calls them kinetic (typography) videos.

I have offered a free sample because I've found it is a good way to get work when you're not too established.

He's provided me with a sales letter that I need to convert into a script for the 'kinetic video'

However, I am not entirely sure what the format should look like

i.e

Narrator - Frame 1 : How to make money in an instant
Screen Text Frame 1 : Make Money In An Instant

Narrator - Frame 2 : with the greatest blah blah blah
Screen Text Frame 2 : The Greatest blah blah blah!

To anybody who has written scripts for this kind of vid, is that the kind of format I should use when writing my sample?

I really don't want to cock this up, lol!

Thanks very much in advance

I've never had to provide just a script, but if I did I'd use a table with three columns: screen, script, and notes.

And you can always ask your client what format he'd prefer.

Ok thanks Andrew, I was starting to write this out and was losing time writing Frame, Narrator and screen text over and over.

I'll switch to table mode as you suggested, good idea!

Depending on the complexity of the project, a simple table format as Andrew suggests could work.

For more complex projects, there are many available tools for creating scripts and storyboards, from free Word macro-based templates to more advanced professional programs.

A kinetic typography video script has the potential to be complex, depending on how detailed you need to be on the kinetic (animated) typography aspect itself (entries, exits, transitions, fonts, colors, sizes, etc.). The script itself would probably be the easiest part.

There are many examples of kinetic typography videos on the web, such as at Creative Kinetic Typography Videos . They can be fun and creative projects to work on!
