I've seen that image so many times I can make it spin on any side on a whim, lol. I guess I'm more of a logical type as I've always avoided to write something imaginative.

For me it's spinning clockwise, so what does that mean?

OK, after staring at this for 10 minutes, I had to find out how anyone could possibly see the image spinning counter-clockwise.

I found a frame-by-frame image, and if I try hard enough, I can see how it could go counter-clockwise.

Here's everything you ever wanted to know about the spinning dancer: Spinning Dancer Wiki.

Yep, I'm way too fascinated with this.

Funnily enough, I too can make her spin first one way then instantly the other way round at will. Last night not doing more than half a turn before I span her round the opposite way again, back and forth.

      Meaning?...

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

      knowing
      acknowledges
      order/pattern perception
      knows object name
      reality based
      forms strategies
      practical
      safe

      RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
      uses feeling
      "big picture" oriented
      imagination rules
      symbols and images
      present and future
      philosophy & religion
      can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
      believes
      appreciates
      spatial perception
      knows object function
      fantasy based
      presents possibilities
      impetuous

According to that, then, I'm right-brained. But I sure as heck ain't religious.

After reading this I have discovered that I am right brain orientated. However, I also tend to avoid using my imagination when I write. I believe that we all use both sides of the brain in our writings.

It switches for my wife every few minutes. For me it's clockwise almost all of the time unless I look away.

I don't think it really determines right vs left brain function, but they did find, those who see it as clockwise initially, have a much harder time getting it to switch. Those who see it counter clockwise at first can make it switch easier.

Yeah, one of the articles the Wiki page links to says which way you perceive the spinning has no determination on whether you're "left-or-right-brained."
