A Sneaky Trick I use To Test Hundreds of Headlines at once for dirt Cheap!!

Hey Guys!

Its my 300th post so I feel like breaking off a gold nugget.

If you've ever done any testing on your sales copy then you know, while the WINNERS can make you a fortune... testing a bunch of headlines that don't increase your bottom line can cost you BIG!

Here is how I test literally 100s of headlines at once for dirt cheap and SUPER fast!

First write about 100 headlines (at LEAST)

Then take what you think are the top 20 or so..

THEN...place ads in adwords (or bing) using your headlines.

Make sure you bid LOW and are promoting something you think will at least help you to break even on the PPC traffic.

You can test as many headlines as you want this way.

Now, keep in mind just because it converts as an ad..doesnt mean it will always beat your headline control.

In MOST cases it will.

Just remember to write the ad as if you were writing a headline (Not an ad)

But.. once you have a few ads/headlines that are working for you..take these headlines and test THOSE against your control.

This trick has saved me a fortune in testing!

Happy testing!

This sounds like a great idea. I'm not sure if I could write a short enough headline to meet Google's Adwords requirements though.

Maybe I'll just try using a winning Adwords ad and then split test 100 different headlines using optimizer.

    Thanks for this tip.

      You are welcome.

Its good to try and get in the habit of writing shorter headlines. 17 words should be enough in many cases.

After all, the more you can say using the less amount of words, the less the reader has to read to get your point = higher CR.
