Can you use stories in your copy?

If were writing a sales page could i use a story of a news article I read about a weight loss discovery or like someones story like the Frank Kern getting sued story or magazine article about an anti aging method and things like that?

Or is that illegal?

I AM waiting to hear back from a lawyer on the ask a lawyer site (so don't say ask a lawyer because I have) but I was wondering if anyone here knew.

    Why consult and/or seek the opinion of non-legal amateurs in matters pertaining to law if you yourself recognize that in order to receive advice upon this issue you must first consult a lawyer?
