Free Copy Critique For Warriors By $1,000,000 Copywriter!

I've been noticing a lot of critique requests here on the forum, so I thought I would share some $1,000,000 tips:

1. Your sales letter isn't ready to be "critiqued" yet, because you haven't even finished the darn thing! Get it finished first, then ask for a critique

2. Forget the design. Copywriters use words to "sell" the product or service being advertised, so all your design does is make it harder for us to determine what areas you need help with, especially when the design isn't even finished.

Use plain text for sentences and paragraphs and bold for headings and subheads so us copywriters can quickly spot problems in your copy and give you tips for fixing them.

3. More effort in the letter PLEASE. No offense, but it seems like some people just put some words on a webpage expecting us copywriters to re-write the entire letter for them, when they know in their heart the letter needs a lot of work.

Copy critiques aren't cheap and copywriters get offended when they feel like people are taking advantage of their hard earned wisdom. Treat copywriters here on the forum like gold and they will be more than happy to help you with your letter.

That's all I have...for now. If you're not satisfied with this critique, you can always ask for your money back

Any other warrior copywriters have suggestions?

Yes, now that you mention it...

One time-tested tip is not to promise something in one's headline that won't be delivered in one's copy or in one's product/service.

Copywriter's use words to "sell" the product or service being advertised, so all your design does is make it harder for us to determine what areas you need help with...especially when the design isn't even finished.
For many niches, copywriters ought to master pluralization and apostrophe use! :p

Further to Ray's comment above, with just 7 posts to your name, I hardly think you're very well qualified (yet) to be offering advice on what the expectations are of other copywriters on this forum.

      Just saying.

I don't think 1robert should get beaten up too bad here.

Though he missed the stickied checklist, and though his post count is low, he still gave some decent advice.

        Thank's Nick

I guess I can't speak for every copywriter on the forum, but I do find it easier to critique a sales letter when the format and design is easy to read.

That's a good checklist to follow.

I was referring more to the design and completeness of the sales letter though and not the actual copy.

      Cheers!
