Maybe the copywriting courses could be added to the list of
books in the stickie and make it one post as books/courses.

      This question keeps coming up.

        I think you're right, Ray.

But it'd probably be best to keep the books and courses in separate lists/threads... agree people?

See what you are saying Brian, but I just hate to see stickie posts
          count increase.

  • Hi there

the AWAI course can give you a good basic structure to begin.

Ben Seetles "copywriting grab bag" is good too for some extra spice.

Stay away from internet marketing types turned "Sales copy Gurus"

check out Amazon for the big named guys.

    • One of the best books to read is INFLUENCE: The Psychology of Persuasion written by Robert Cialdini, PhD. You can get in on Amazon for cheap.

You'll discover how people think, what makes people want to buy...all of which is important when selling online or offline.

This will definitely help with any copywriting you do. Other than that, study commercials. They have a very short time to get people's attention....the same is true with written copy, so the same principles apply. Infomercials are great to learn from as well. Both of these sources (infomercials, TV commercials) are free to learn about copy/the sales process

...And always think out of the box.

I'm coming out with one soon. It'll be a year long with plenty of hard graft.

And, you'll probably end up with carpal tunnel syndrome with the amount of writing you'll have to do.

But, if you do the work, you'll end up a pretty decent copywriter.

    I think so, anyway.

    I don't think there's a 'best'.

I would say read widely. Somebody mentioned Cialdini - that's a great one. I'd say at the very least read the classics on advertising and copywriting, plus stuff on Influence - like Cialdini.

Describing something as the best comes across as subjective. I don't think there's one book or course that can be considered as the best because each book or course in copywriting has something to offer. Anyway, this forum has awesome tips, suggestions, recommendation that you can find for copywriting.

Do Accredited diploma copywriting courses for all abilities. This should help you gain some knowledge about copywriting and should help you in the long run in this field. Just make sure that you do some research about a particular topic before you decide to pursue it. One wrong step may damage your career.

As far as I know, Michel Fortin is a good center for copywriting. There is a course called "Six figure copywriting course". This course is very effective for improving copywriting.
