Is a DAILY autoresponder follow up too much for you?

Do you consider this an overkill? Some suggest 2-3 days while some get away with once a day for weeks.

Please answer objectively from both sides
(as the seller AND the prospect).

    It depends.

Some people are successful emailing daily, others emailing weekly (or less).

I'll read daily emails if they interest me, but if they don't it doesn't matter how often you mail.

Are you capable of writing something every day your target market would want to read?

Ultimately, just test different frequencies and see which one best achieves your goal.

It all depends on your market. If you are sending out
daily inspirational emails then of course daily would
work. If you're sending out information that takes time
to implement then daily would be a stretch.

I have a client who sends out two emails per day and
    he makes millions each year.

But you must also have the content that would be
interesting enough to keep daily interest.

  • ...well if you're able to say someone good, interesting and fresh each and every day then try it.

Very few people manage it. Because it is a bit of a nightmare trying to pull it off 365 days in a row (plus an extra one in a leap year). And then the next year...

As Andrew says testing will tell you what your audience wants.

It depends on the content and, yeah, the entertainment value for me.

I get emails everyday from some marketers, roll my eyes, and usually click "delete." I don't stay subscribed to them for long.

But there are a few marketers who send daily emails that I always read. Ben Settle is one of them. He always has helpful tips, never pushes a sale, and always has something entertaining to say.

But depending on your goals, daily emails can be very effective. Say, for example, if you're setting up a sequence to get your list to buy something.

The answer is simple. Ask yourself the same question.

Unless you have subscribed to a course, private coaching, or similar, getting hit every single day will probably make you unsubscribe pretty quickly. And if you would, so would your readers.

No way you can uphold quality at such a pace - and without quality.. why should folks stay on?

    I don't even adhere to the 2 - 3 day span (unless it is a time-limited course)
Once a week is a sweet spot as I see it.

  • ...f*** it, if you must use the inter web and hassle people with emails.

You may as well do it full on.

Email every day, make them blazzingly good. If some unsubscribe they probably were never going to buy anyway.

The secret is to make the product or service so irresistible that your people want to buy it.

There you go, how easy is that?

The more often you mail, the sooner you'll get rid of the subs who aren't interested in what you have to say.

I have a 12-day autoresponder series, and I mail TWICE a day for the first 7 days. You shouldn't live in fear of losing subs.

I totally agree. Sometimes I get guys replying back like, SPAM, or too much mails! etc.. but who cares. Most stick because they're interested.

Test the waters and see what you get for response. I believe the more mail you deliver with great content the better. Also I recommended to put the topic in the subject line, this way... if a reader has no interest in that topic, they just won't open or read it. ...and if it's a topic that there passionate about then they will. It works great for me.

Also when doing promos and sales don't be affraid to blast your list. TELL THEM LOUD.

If some unsub, then fine. They probably are not interested anyway. I have had guys buy my products after being on my list for 2-3 years!

You could try several options and then choose which of them is the most effective according to the achieved results.

Ben Settle mails daily. And he has plenty of members of his $97/mo Email Players newsletter.

*But* he lets you know of front he mails daily. He also has alot of entertainment value. And he let's you know frequently if you don't like the daily emailing you can remove yourself.

I think if you mix up content + entertainment it's fine. You can also give a person a chance to opt in to a less frequent email list should they decide they have had enough.

Yes, 2-3 a day is definitely overkill. People do that to me I subscribe right away. 1 or 2 a week top.

    What's your business?

Are your emails relevant for everyone on your list?

    Or...

Do you break your list down into different avatars?

    ...

Do you map out your sequence?

    Or...

Do you just wing day by day?

    ...

Are you giving prospects value they can apply?

    Or...

Are you constantly just trying to get under their skin with scarcity tactics or "what if" type scenarios?

    ...

Hitting a list on the daily isn't necessarily a bad thing at all...

...but there are a multitude of variables that ultimately provide the answer.

I would mostly unsubscribe from any organization sending me 1 e-mail per day.

It all actually depends on the niche/product/offer.

There are some niches in which you can send multiple emails on a daily basis to offer the product/info.

It all depends on the market. But 2 / 3 emails per week generally works for almost all niches.

... imho, content is what counts here.

Mail twice daily - some random, unrelated affilaite offers with blind copy - welcome to the official "I have a big-ass list... that doesn't make any money" club.

Mail twice daily - provide excellent value, be relevant to your target group, KNOW what they want to hear about, tie in your personal wit & style, make sure to have continuity in both topic and in between emails - and they'll sit behind their screens, waiting for your next email to arrive.

    "simple" as that.

    Cheers,
    Rob

Do two a week, one a day is too much. People will opt out because they don't have time to read it all and will get annoyed deleting them. If you want everyday contact, get the Facebook connection and post quotes and nuggets there.

Getting daily mail is too much for me. People already have this mindset that "marketing" emails are intended to sell something so if you're going to send them everyday it can be too much unless you really have something to say that will interest your List or readers.
