    Here's a helpful tip...it's "Jewelry."

Have you gotten anything started on your ad?

Jewelry can be spelled either way. The way people spell it seems to depend on where he/she grew up.

Is jewellery the common UK spelling?

It only seems to be found in English dictionaries (such as Definition of jewellery - jewellery), whereas the American English dictionries have it as jewelry (as in Definition of jewelry).

LOL, whoops...Being an American I had never seen the European spelling of the word and couldn't tell that the market was for Pakistan. Clearly I know nothing about jewelry or jewellery, and would be no help in this situation...Other than to say good luck selling luxury items to a niche upper class market with free copywriting advice.

  • If you are talking broadcast television commercials, most are 30 seconds. I'm not sure what commercials cost in Pakistan, but it's likely to be expensive and requires a decent budget. It's also not the best way to reach the upper class market for a local company.

If the budget is tight, consider putting together joint ventures with companies that already have a list of targeted prospects in the same demographic/psychographic. Likely companies could be for example, a furrier or Mercedes Benz dealer. Approach them with an irresistible offer and follow up aggressively.

This is an interview with a joint venture expert that will give you some ideas:

Alternatively (here's how I would ask for help

"I'm in the process of starting a new, well-positioned, high-end silver jewelry company.

I've absolutely exhausted my financial resources by investing in a large stock pile of product to sell.

And while I diligently look for financial backers to help me make my vision, a reality, I thought I'd reach out to the copywriting community for help.

    However...

I'm certainly not asking something for nothing.

    No, no, no...

I know how incredibly valuable copywriting is for ANY business and I'd be willing to offer 50% of my first year's sales to compensate you for your time and expertise.

We can arrange for you to have complete financial transparency - so you can confidently commit your skills to the project.

    What would I like in-return?

    Simple.

I need a one minute video script that articulates my unique positioning in the jewelery marketplace.

    That being said...

I need YOU to take the ball and run with this.

Marketing is NOT my area of expertise.

    Of course...

I'll gladly make myself available for you to interview - so you can be sure to get all of the vital information out of me that you require to make this thing a mutual success.

If you're interested, PM me and I'll fill you in on the remaining information.

I really believe in this business and I know it'll become successful with the right help.

    Cheers!

    Some guy"

Wouldn't it just pay you to sell some fine silver jewellery first to your circle of contacts to raise the necessary capital to employ the services of a top copywriter?

If you've got the stock, surely this wouldn't present much of a problem - just a short delay waiting for the cash to come your way to pay the copywriter in question in full in advance?

I don't know, something about your post is raising a massive red flag to me. If this really is top quality jewellery which you're selling, it's very odd when you state you haven't set aside at least some of your budget for your marketing needs.

Something is blatantly amiss here. Something obviously isn't right about your business model.

Mark - your suggestion I don't agree with - sorry.

How would anyone know that they would receive the 50% of gross sales revenue?

Fact is, you or anyone else going for this arrangement wouldn't know at all whether you could trust this individual. And trying to chase the money owed when this gentleman lives in Pakistan, would be next to impossible.

I'd advise anyone to avoid this arrangement like the plague. It's folly to go down this avenue.

The easy solution... all this gentleman has to do, is to sell some product first locally to his circle of contacts to quickly raise the necessary capital required.

      Simple.

      Problem solved.

        Yo, yo, yo...

I think the whole premise of this thread just stinks.

This is NOT how anyone should EVER do business.

I just tried to make his request sound decent.

Why I'd take the time to do that is beyond me...

The only time I think I'd make an exception Mark, looking at this from a purely practical point of view...

...would be if it was a particularly beautiful Westcountry lass who was offering me at least 25 blowjobs in exchange for my copywriting skills.

In such unlikely instance - I think I'd probably be tempted to say, "Right on!"
