Should I use Video or not on this site

COPY WRITING

I've created two versions of my 'home' page for the site listed below and am considering whether or not to include the video on my final home page.
I am not finished editing the page and would appreciate any suggestions.

If you got the post without the sites, I accidently hit the enter key.

Video will normally increase conversions of a page - as long as its interesting and relevant. It is a part of the sales process, and therefore needs to be scripted just like the main letter. With video you can summarize some of the letter for people who don't want to read it, but there is a danger in revealing too much of your offer in a top placed video. Summarize your offer in a video lower down near your offer. Althought the real proof of the pudding is in your test results.

If you use the video, give the reader a reason to watch it.

I was reading the page. I saw some bullets, then the video, then another headline.

The video looked out of place, and the text leading up to it did not entice me to even want to click on the play button. I simply just skipped over it so I could scan your offer.

You ask the questions, then say "We Can Help" after the video. What does the video show? Give the reader a reason to watch it by explaining what's in it or leading into it with some sort of text.

Then make it a good video ;-)

  Thanks for looking at the copy. I've considered shortening the copy since the surfers in this niche aren't use to the length many of the 'marketing' niche products sellers write.
  
  I originally created a longer version of the video as a lead generator with a free ebook. That can be found in the grocerystoresavings.com/giveaway directory.
  I think maybe I should have that one autoplay and it does not at this time.
  
  Now I'm considering showing one of the lessons (or a little of the outline) in a video on what the home page is now, at or near the bottom. Like a picture on eBay, that may make the offer seem more real and enticing. I'll have to figure out how to do it so 'the competition' does not see the content.

  Video almost always increases conversions assuming it's the right video.
  
  In this case I'd leave your video out - your video doesn't really grab the reader. remember the purpose of the video isn't just having a video - it's to sell and to bring life into the sales message.
  
  You could possibly use that video but I'd definitely get a professional voice over on top it. Write a good script for them and you're in business.
  
  You can get a 1 minute top level voice over clip done for $50. (pm me if you want the site) and if you want autoplay, (which i recommend) you can simply upload it to viddler - that's one easy way to do it.
  
  I didn't go through all the copy but I do think you probably need a better headline - probably something a little more specific in the headline.

One thing that I advise when using videos is to give the customer an incentive to click the play button. Make sure you entice them enough with your content so that it's what they believe is the best course of action. Don't have the video set to autoplay or anything either because that is usually a huge turnoff for most visitors.
