How many articles (or words) do you write in one day?

How many articles can a seasoned copywriter create in one day? what if it's all about rewriting stuff and so it doesn't involve research.

Thanks

This is entirely subjective. It will vary incredibly from writer to writer. It depends on what the articles are for, the required quality levels, the length, etc.

If you're rewriting (aka spinning) then sure, that can speed things up. But again, there won't be any reliable constant.

I'm guessing this is so you can offer a client an estimate or quote?

At 50 words per minute... if one devotes 8 solid hours to writing...

    8 hours *60 minutes*50 words per minute = 24,000 words per 8 hours

    24000 words / 400 per average article = 60 articles

So, I think one could potentially write about 60 articles, if one spend 12 hours working... 4 hours for breaks and research and 8 hours of solid writing. 50 words per minute is sort of slow.

Is this a realistic goal? I don't think that it is impossible.

24k words in a day?! At that rate you could write two full blown books in a week.

A coherent 50 words per minute is possible in short bursts, but nobody can sustain that and create something worth reading.

I write a five hundred word column every week. It takes anywhere from three to six hours to finish. And I'm not a Wikipedia-cowboy. I've been studying my subject for two decades. No matter how much you know, it still takes time to craft something engaging and relevant.

To anyone writing five or ten or more articles a day... please stop. You make the internet suck. It's the writing equivalent of public masturbation. It gratifies you (or the sicko paying you to do it), but it disgusts everyone who happens upon it while looking for real information.

and if you're spinning articles...fukc you, word molester.
