Just received some great news from...

...one of my older copy cubs. A guy from Hungary I spent a good while training up.

Just contacted him on Skype to catch up, see how he's doing.

Since February of this year he's pulled in 8 copywriting / marketing clients at the top end of the B2B niche starting at $8k at the low end and $15k at the top end.

Very good indeed and I take my hat off to him.

Bear in mind English is not his first language, he's Hungarian, so I think he's done exceptionally well for himself.

You can check out his website here...

Well done Ben!

So you've taken Clayton Makepeace's copyrighted material...rearranged it into a pdf...and have the utter gall to offer it as opt-in bait on your site. And your mentors think that perfectly acceptable?

      Hey there, Mal!

      How are You today? :-)

FYI, Clayton's free blog articles have an attribution statement. It says you're free to use them as long as the articles and the statement is intact.

All I've done is compiled a PDF that'll make it easier for YOU to read his blog, so that you can snuggle up in your bed with a hot chocolate in hand and read all the awesomeness on your iPad.

At least that's what I did, and I loved every minute of it, so I thought I'd share.

      Hope you don't mind.

        Don't sweat Mal's comments Ben.

He's a dam good copywriter, brilliant in fact but cut throat. Comes from his journalistic background and many decades working in the trenches as a copywriter for a top agency.

People skill's (a bit like me actually) isn't exactly his number one quality. He's about as blunt as a concrete block at times, bless him.

        ***

Yep, I can't take all the credit for training up Ben.

He's an exceptionally driven individual and already knew NLP extremely well beforehand which naturally compliments the copywriting skill base.

I was merely adding to his already substantial psychology and business knowledge. A little lever in the works so to speak, nothing more.

And at the point where I felt he was exhausting my ability to help him directly, I passed him 'up the chain', to my good friend and former colleague, copywriter Arfa Saira.

She really helped him to prepare his business for the road ahead, helping him to forge strong relationships with potential clients and I know for a fact, this really helped Ben prepare for his copywriting future.

Which naturally is the reason I passed Ben up knowing full well she could help him at this stage better than I could. (You have to know your personal limitations in this business).

So you could call it a multi-pronged approach, a few people seeing the potential in Ben, who upon being brought together in a 'stepped stages approach' nurtured this potential to bring out the best in his future performance.

The most important ingredient in all of this though is Ben himself...

Driven for success, the sheer willpower to really push forwards is a credit which all goes to him personally.

Undoubtedly any top communications and/or marketing company looking for fresh ideas, from someone who loves written persuasion skills, understands NLP practices well, would be doing themselves a great favor taking Ben on.

Myself? I can only wish you all the greatest success Ben!

It was a great privilege to work with you, to train you up on the copywriting path in the early stages of your copywriting career.

May you long be a credit to this industry and I thoroughly look forward to your contributions here on this forum in the future.

        Much success to you!

Wow, Mark, all of that niceness from someone like YOU :p

I'm at a loss of words!

Of course I have to thank my lucky stars for You and Arfa and all of my mentors, and I have to admit my 15 year background in business, consulting, IT, marketing, sales and NLP were an essential ingredient in what I've achieved in such a short amount of time.

But: Thank you for your kindness. I'm gonna print this thread, frame it and hang it on my wall.
