How Can I Learn Effective Copywriting Skills?

Hey Warriors,

I am a blogger, affiliate marketer, product creator and freelance writer.

I want to be able to learn effective copywriting skills so that I can make more money online.

Can anyone point me toward a place where I can begin to learn the basics of copywriting?

I am after free information...not paid

Thanks

Blah, I'd have to recommend Clayton Makepeace's site: The Total Package

He has an awesome line of writers and marketers sharing their stuff.

Ryan, here's how super-marketer Gary Halbert answered that question:
    The Gary Halbert Letter
I also highly recommend Getting Everything You Can... by Jay Abraham as a great introduction to his thought process.

    Regards,
    Allen

P.S. I mention Halbert and Abraham a lot because I have materials from literally dozens of other authors, and nobody else has - for me - been as kick-ass inspiring and practically hands-on about copywriting and marketing as those two. Of course, you might find any number of other writers to be a better match with your personality. Much of the material is the same no matter who presents it. Just be sure that whatever you go with, it has plenty of material about markets and offers, not just ad copy.

Ben Hart is a magician and an incredible guy he inspired me along time ago. You have to take a look at his program. And I think his program is like 1.00 a month?

Beyond the business copywriting books (I'd especially suggest the Dan Kennedy book and Joseph Sugarman's brilliant "Triggers"), let me suggest two more things:

      1. "On Writing Well" by William Zinnser. Read this in college and it made me a writer. Fabulous.

      2. Read Hemingway. Especially Old Man & The Sea. He was a journalist and knew how to pack more into fewer words than any writer I've ever encountered.

And, most importantly, relax and be yourself. It's just a conversation with a new friend put on paper.

      Good luck!
