Ideas for a great email subject line

Hi,

i am looking to move forward with video marketing for local businesses this year (from simple video slideshows showcasing the biz to more elaborate vid's) but need some assistance in writing a great email subject line that will generate clicks to open the email.

Can anyone offer any ideas either from personal experience or know examples you have heard that worked.

Many thanks & Happy New Year

    Kaputchnik,

I think your asking what headlines are best for promoting you business on making videos for other businesses? If so, do some research on words that are empowering, yet also represent your local status. such as.

"Fantastic video presentations for your business!"

      Hi kaputchnik,

Your email subject line needs to a mixture of 'What's in it for me' coupled with a hefty dose of curiosity.

The first element should trigger the reader's curiosity and the WIIFM element should compel them to click through.

      Something like :

I've made you this video to show how easy it is to increase your business ...

Video is still a novelty outside the IM niche and your prospect will want to see it - particularly as you've personalized it.

And what business owner doesn't want to increase their business. Depending on your market conditions, you could vary that (maybe split test) with 'beat the recession'.

      Warmest regards,

      Paul

I agree with this. In numerous split tests it's often been found that email titles need elements of both curiosity and benefits to get people interested. Especially when you're going in cold, try to imagine a reward you can provide prospects with immediately after opening your message. That will get them more invested in the fact that you aren't simply trying to scam them, and will buy you more time to explain your sales proposition.

  • I tend to stay well away from anything technical.

So I've no idea if this would work.

But the word "video" sounds a bit bland.

Would "Hollywood" production be a dash more intriguing?
