Probably my favorite job listing ever, if only for this:

Now that is the sort of ad that gets noticed by those who should notice it.

I have a suspicion I know who wrote that ad. She's British and she's really clever. She's also on the inside at Infusionsoft.

To me, whoever wrote this did so on the assumption that copywriters are all literary types whose writing styles read like the content found in DnD manuals, flavor text of trading cards, and scripts of fantasy RPGs... which would actually be very accurate if you were to describe me. (My apologies to those who might take offense. )

In other words, I actually thought it was pretty good and well-aimed.

P.S.

As to the haiku though... I'm not so sure. Poetry's not my forte. But if it was, I'd be tempted to be a little more hardcore, learn actual Japanese calligraphy, and write it on a scroll attached with the other documents. :p

Dude, copy is a class skill for me

Having said that, as much as I love Infusionsoft as a product... they could definitely use someone a bit more down to earth to help them roll out their marketing campaigns!

And here's a question from the application:
If you could be any type of cereal, what type would you be?
Makes you wonder what they put in the water in Chandler, Arizona. LOL

It weeds out the kind of people they didn't want too! Whatever do they put in the water in Surrey?

That's interesting, Alex. I must have missed that somehow. I've been asked that before, but only during interviews.

My answer? Fruit Loops, with as blank an expression on my face as I can muster.
