I came across this presentation by Chris Hadadd:

Presentation Part 1

Powerful insights... and the guy is pretty damn funny too. I thought some of you would enjoy it.

Cheers,
Robert

P.S. Here's part 2: Presentation Part 2

    Robert,

His 8 "Stupid" Copywriting Tricks are interesting. My favorites are 2 and 3...

    1. Figure Out the Primal Desire of Your Market and Give it to Them

    2. Use “Punched in the Gut” Storytelling

    3. Make Promises With Balls

    4. Confirm the Prejudices, Irrational Beliefs and Soul-Crushing Fears Your Market Already Has Around Your Big Idea or Niche

    5. Transform the Act of Buying Your @$%# Into a Noble and Heroic Act

    6. Use “Aftercare” Q&A to Remove Objections and Boost Your Sales

    7. Seven Deadly Sins Bullets Cut to the Core of What Your Market Wants

    8. Cut Through Writer’s Block with If/Then/Why
    Thanks for sharing!

    God Bless,

  • I know Chris does VSL's.

He mentioned they are usually 25 plus mins long.

So, if we're going to keep the good people who are interested in buying our stuff captive for a while, it's really going to help with spectacularly brilliant copy.

Does anyone have the links to the promo's he mentioned?

I have a feeling they might be worth watching.

Doesn't matter if you're not in the target audience for the products (e.g.if you're wife doesn't use a cellphone the "Text Her Into Bed" promo might not be that useful).

But the writing techniques should be very enlightening.

A few of them off the top of my head (won't post links, you can find these all on Clickbank):
      Text Your Ex Back
Secret Survey: The Truth About Men
      Destroy The Distance

...And his "solar panel" vsl he was talking about was for "Power 4 Home" which was huge on CB last year but got pulled down and is no longer on the marketplace. You can still see the video he wrote here: System « Power4Home

He also has a product which is getting close to launching but hasn't gone live yet which he mentions casually in one of the "8 Stupid Tricks" videos. You can see that here:
Capture His Heart and Make Him Love You Forever

He said he's still split-testing this one, so expect that page to change a bit in the next few days.

  • Thanks cool, I remember somebody telling me about the solar promo, now I know why I couldn't find it.

Thanks so much for all your help.

      You're welcome, happy to help.

It should also be noted that most of these "8 Stupid Tricks" can be found in Chris Haddad's "Video Sales Letter Workshop" course that came out in 2010 or 2011, around the same time Ryan Deiss' VSL course was getting a lot of attention. He has a lot of great insight and a pretty unique way of approaching copy and his course is worth checking out if anyone wants a more in-depth look at his process.
