Now the question: Does anyone have feed back on one of the others? I'm thinking Harlan's might be worth checking out...also know his rep and skills are pretty kick arse...

What I'm looking for is emphasis on story structure and creation from maps that have been proven to work.

  And I don't know about brilliant...but I have a sense that I really need to nail a story in this project I'm working on and aiming to devour everything I can get my hands on while laying this piece out.

You can actually learn enough about using stories in copy just from writing and reading fiction.

In short, the takeaway is this:

Once you know your story (and can connect it to your serve/product), write a longer-than-needed version.

Then go back and cut out anything that doesn't move the story forward.

Then go back again, reading it while asking yourself, "If it were my first time reading this, would I feel that this line has told me something new about the situation-at-hand?" If the answer is no, cut it out.

In the end, you'll be left with something succinct yet moving. Then as a copywriter, put your skills to use in connecting the story with the reader's problem.

One of America's master story tellers is Garrison Keillor. In listening to his stories on The Prairie Home Companion, I've found it fascinating to listen to the way he uses nested loops, and both how and when they get resolved.

Not sure if this resource has been mentioned. Big in B2B world, certainly applies to online marketing - especially webinars.
