a pretty simple way to boost conversions

Or maybe I should have written...

"How to increase your conversion rate by 46%"

That would have led into one of the best ways I've found to increase a sales letter's conversion rate without much effort.

And that is, be specific. Add specifics to your letter.

Doing so makes it more credible and believable.

I've written over 300 fitness sales letters... and without a doubt, saying...

"How to Lose 24 Pounds in the Next 38 Days using These 3 Foods"

that will almost always convert better than "how to lose weight"

Look, the one big reason most people won't buy from you is because they
just don't believe you.

That's right... a sale won't happen until your promise is believed.

After all, anyone can (and does!) make promises, but adding specifics
and being as exact as you can be... well, that ups the proof ante!

Toyota gets 48 miles to the gallon...

Bounty absorbs 52% more

P90X is proven to increase your metabolism by 89%

This print cartridge will print off 1,000 more pages

Bottom line, specifics are one way to boost believability in a sales letter,
without really changing much else.

Of course, you need a lot more proof elements than just specifics,
but when you add it all up, specifics in your letter just help tilt the
balance in your favor.
