"About Me" for Pen Name

I'm putting together a blog site for a Pen Name and I've hit a roadblock for the "about me".

I want to truly represent why I am writing for the niche, but I quickly hit a point where a bit of fiction would save me a from being too vague.

So my question is how do you handle this? How much playful embellishment is allowed without slipping into all out fraud.

Thanks

You should always handle "about me" pen name truthfully.

Personally, I use pen names are avatars - a projection of myself that best relates to the market. So in the "about me", I usually present only parts of myself.

For example, in a dating market, I might say that I'm an avid learner of dating psychology and the fact that I was able to pick up women effortlessly in bars.

What I didn't mention is I don't do it anymore and that I'm happily married with two kids.

    See what I mean?

      Thanks Andre,

I did some searching on the web and was coming to that conclusion. I guess it's just state the facets of myself that apply to that particular niche.
I am a bit of problem writing the opening phrase "Mark is an avid sailer who...." I find myself already struck wanting to be honest with something like, "Mark is a name I made up who in fact doesn't exist."

Maybe I shouldn't try to write them in third person...Maybe first would feel more natural to me.

Or write it in the first person, then translate to the third person. Although I don't see why an about me should be in the third person anyway.

I feel the same way about this dilemma. I mean, if you are making up a person anyway to be the owner of this site, how far do you stray from the truth?

That's a great idea to bring out facets of yourself that apply to this niche, so that you are being truthful, without telling every detail of the real you.

This must get easier the more you do it.
