Anybody have any thoughts on the philosophy for content used for autoresponders (Andre Chaperon Autoresponder Madness) or others? Slower sell and earlier large value add etc.
Also the value of using Ray Dal's autopilot series as a guide?.
Any input on methods for creating a series for an autoresponder appreciated.

    Someone who I just found recently and love, is Ben Settle. His specialty is email copywriting. Pretty much according to Ben, every email should be a selling email. You should always have a buy link in every email.

      I also recently just discovered Ben Settle. I really like his style. He sells in every email and I believe he emails every single day. I recently handcopied an older sequence he sent out for a charity run and he was offering some enormous value in the form of freebies in exchange for a $5 donation. Had it been live, I would have done it in a heartbeat.

    I really don't see a problem with emailing everyday. However, I would not sell to my list everyday. I like what Jimmy D. Brown said, "don't be an offer harlot!" it is the fastest way for someone to unsubscribe from your list.

    I tried to unsub from Shoemoney's list because of he was an offer harlot. However, every attempt has failed to get unsubscribed, I just sent his mailing to spam.

    I have been on Ben's list for over 3 years now. I read it when I get a chance. I like Marlon Sanders list better.

    some build as big of a list as possible as fast as they can, focusing more on size rather than quality. the logic being that even if their list isn't the most responsive they can make a decent number of conversions from any given email simply due to the sheer volume they're sending. for example you'll see that on some of the lists you're on, every other day comes another email pitching another product. personally i rarely ever purchase through them because i don't really trust them (i have a hard time trusting someone who tells me 3 times per week that they've found the greatest product), however i remain on those types of lists because i look at what they're sending to get an idea of what's new out there and how it's being pitched.

    as for myself, i don't utilize that strategy. i put a strong emphasis on building quality/responsive lists by educating my subscribers such that they feel i'm an expert and know what i'm talking about. i strive to be thought of as an authority who's opinion should be valued and not someone just looking to always sell to them. i typically send a few to several emails w quality information educating on a given topic before introducing them to a product specifically related to that topic, and i rarely ever talk about more than one product in a given week or two. it should be noted that mastering this can be a little tricky because u have to find that balance with your subscribers such that they know that although you're giving them valuable information, the relationship is ultimately one of u suggesting offers that can greatly assist them. that's the approach i've always taken and it's worked well.

    People have a hard time telling the difference between you telling them something and teaching: I think the whole "move the free line" thing really just sets you up to get a bunch of freebee seekers. People move it too far. Use a story to make a point in every email you write, just pay attention to the crap going on in the world or your life. Tell a story and relate it to how your product fits into that - or hell be like Furey and don't - just sell in the PS at the end.

    If your email isn't designed to bring a person closer to a sale or better yet make a sale right then, your wasting it.

    Ever communication and interaction you have with a customer is sales, even if you don't think it is.

    I don't know about the other products because I've never
    read them but as far as my 'philosophy' is concerned it has
    to do with getting the sale and not with 'building a relationship.

    As far as I'm concerned building relationship is for a newsletter
    and not for an 'autoresponder series' as I define it. So for my
    product you are looking at an autoresponder series that
    builds up to getting the sale so it's more direct and 'in your
    face' style of selling.
