Need some last minute suggestions from my COPY friends

Hi guys,

I have my guitar package ready!!! Just need to put the finishing touches on my funneling technique...

I'll sum it up:
I have a package that I'm selling that teaches people guitar.

I'm funneling people to that package from my Youtube channel and videos that gets about 1500 views per day. I'm funneling people from my videos through YouTube Annotations - I just have to make them more persuasive.

I also want to maximize my subscriptions to my Youtube channel, traffic to my website and most of all my "free report" - MY TOP SECRET GUITAR TIPS.

So for each video I currently the following annotations:

  • "Subscribe" or "Subscribe For More Videos Just Like This One" - YouTube Subscribe Opt In
  • "Get "My TOP SECRET Guitar Tips" Absolutely FREE!!! Click Here" - Makes people opt in to my e-mail list

And now for the most important...

  • "Learn to play the guitar just like me! - Click Here and I'll reveal all my secrets to you and tell you exactly how I learned." - My package deal
That's what I currently have... I just don't feel very persuaded with those phrases.

Can some of you copywriting geniuses help me doctor them up a bit?

What do you think?

Any help is appreciated...

Thank you

JT

    Hey jt47000,

Right off the bat I get the feeling that you are trying to do too much with your videos. I'll admit I am no expert in video marketing, but this is how I am when I watch a video on Youtube. I watch it for the content the title promised me. That means your title needs to draw me in from the Youtube or Google search engine right off the bat. Next I like to actually watch the video and enjoy it. That means video annotations popping up throughout the video really annoy me. The beginning is ok and even better in my opinion is at the end. This way once you have impressed me with the content of your video I am in the mindset of "How can I get more?" and walla I see a subscribe or check out my site annotation. Even better would be either you telling me or a slide at the very end giving me a small ad/call to action.

Check out that video. The title really gets me interested and draws me in. The only thing distracting is the site name at the bottom which is not a big deal because it is part of the video and not a random annotation covering content I want to see. At the very end they have a call to action saying come get my free course. Obviously in the free course they probably sell you on the paid version, but the point is if you want to promote your paid version, make a video that is dedicated solely to selling people on your product. If you want to promote your free mini course, make a video that is solely dedicated to your mini course like the example above. and you can always throw in a subscribe here and there or produce videos of you playing/giving tips with a small advert at the end saying to subscribe.

As far as your annotations go. The subscribe one is pretty easy. Just ask them to subscribe if they want more of _____ and reiterate what they just saw in your video in that blank.

The annotation about your free mini course should have a benefit in it and should build interest. For example: Want to play the guitar like all of the pros? My "TOP SECRET Guitar Tips" newsletter is Absolutely FREE and will have you playing like the pros in just 5 sessions!!! Click Here to sign up!

and finally the paid product annotation. It kind of needs purpose just like the above one (benefits and emotional triggers) Some ideas could include a time frame in which we could learn to play like you, how you can make it an easy process for us, what playing the guitar well can do for me...or something that a guitar player will want to buy your product for. I don't care so much to know how you learned as how I can learn to play the guitar like Aerosmith by next week. Just make sure what you promise you can deliver on.

Like I said above I would focus your videos more and have each one only promote one or two of the goals you want to achieve. If it was me I would probably use the videos to drive traffic to my mini course or tips newsletter and then save all my selling/advertising of my paid course for the newsletter and not do it in my youtube videos. Maybe a video marketing junkie can hop in here and give you some advice as well

    Hope that helps a little

My first thought when you said, "learn how to pay the guitar just like me..." I wanted to know who you are! You don't gave to be a professional or anything, I just want to know more about you. In other words, why would we care if we play like you?

Thanks Mr.Jman. I really appreciate the advice. That example video you gave was no fluff, I really liked it. Also, Im with you on tons of annotations... Kinda lame... Thanks for your advice, you definitely are pointing me in the right direction!

I have a reputation on youtube for my guitar lessons.. they are "real" and i don't bs the viewer. I dont focus on crap they dont need to learn and I'm right to the point. They video proves my playing ability and i do get alot of props in the comments as well as video likes, so the video instantly shows them my ability and how I'm a normal dude just like them.. playing guitar in my basement.. lol!

    Thanks for the thought

Great tips so far and awesome that you're creating and asking questions.

Yep, the titles are a bit vanilla. Strong hooks have to be about the viewer/buyer/prospect.

No offence, but they don't care about you.

People move toward pleasure or away from pain so you have to ask yourself what your videos or course will help them do.

I've been playing guitar for a little bit (25 years) so if I were to rewind a bit, what would I want from you?

Show me how I can plays the songs I love (not mary had a little lamb)
Teach me how to play solos like my heros.....
My fingers hurt like hell from practicing....how can I fix that?
My buddies are progressing faster than me....how can I become a shredder really fast?

See where I'm going with these?

Copywriting is a bit of an art but just strip it to the basic of human psychology. Speak right to the persons core needs.

People don't buy solutions, we buy the outcome or the feeling that the solutions gives us.

Cheesy/classic example.... "they all laughed at me when I sat down at the piano but I started to play...."

Super famous John Caples example. Nobody likes to be laughed at or made fun of. Caples led the reader to imagine what it feels like to be laughed at and then went right into what I call "The heros journey" as you imagine the piano player wowing the people that were laughing at him.

Keep at it...copy is so awesome and fun to watch transform .
