Would Like a Critique on my Ad for SEO Services

Business has been a bit slower than I'd like lately so I decided to sit down and put together an ad to run on Craigslist to advertise SEO services nationwide.

Can you guys tell me where it needs some work?

Warning: Don't Hire an SEO Firm Before They Can Answer These 3 Questions!
------------

There are two kinds of SEO Firms out there: scammers and experts. Scammers will promise high search engine rankings, but will only end up taking your money with nothing to show for it. They may be inexperienced, too unrealistic, or just plain in it to take your money.

On the other hand, the experts will lead you to more sales and profit by putting your business in the spot light on Google's 1st page where anyone looking for your service or product will easily find you. They know how to rank websites, they've been doing it for years, and they stand behind their work. When looking for an SEO firm to work with, you can use these 3 questions to distinguish the experts from the scammers.

1) How long will it take to get me on the first page?

If you hear "24 hours" or "1 week", thank them for their time and move on. Sustainable and legitamte results don't happen overnight. It should take atleast 6-8 weeks to get on the first page for semi-competitive keywords. If you rank too quickly, there's a good chance that you won't stay ranking highly for long.

2) Do you use link wheeels, blog commenting, or link pyramids to rank websites?

Ideally you'll hear a "no". Even though this is technical jargon, all you need to really know is that these methods once worked well but these days are outdated and dangerous.
3) What do you charge per month for an SEO campaign?

This one is important. An effective SEO campaign involves many strategies and methods that cost a good bit of money to work well. Just how you can't fully remodel a kitchen for $1,000 without sacrificing quality...you can't run an effective SEO campaign on a couple of hundred dollars per month and expect results. As the old saying goes, "If it seems to be good to be true it probably is".

The reality is...very few SEO firms and "specialists" can deliver the results they that they claim. By asking these questions you put yourself in a much better position to hire the right firm for you and your business.

I could add a couple of lines that would put my business in parallel with the legitimate firms talked about in the ad, but I'm thinking that it might push it from "informative" to disguised sales pitch. Are there any problems in that?

    DISCONNECT.

What the hell is SEO? Do you think your potentials wake up every day thinking about search engines? Explain what you're doing or they won't read past the headline. Explain what SEO means for Pete's sake.

That's the theme of this letter, DISCONNECT. First you ask your reader to answer three questions. And you give them two paragraphs with no questions. Two very weak paragraphs at that. Rewrite them so they get to your point immediately and then place them AFTER the questions you promised.

Question one isn't bad. Question two: DISCONNECT. Most business people won't relate to those terms so you're going to lose them.

If this were anything other than a review request I wouldn't have read past the headline. You've got a lot of work to do. Good luck.

Thanks for this...I see exactly what you mean. I think I should have mentioned that the target readers will be seeing this ad in the results after they search for "SEO" or "Google". They're already aware of SEO and how important it is.

Actually I am a copy writing learner and I felt like writing a sales strategy for you ...I am a newbie into this field and constantly learning new things here. I don’t know whether I should post it his on this on this thread or not because there I saw some very senior and experienced copy writers (I must say Marketing GURUS) have already put their opinion and I am just a small fish here to give you any suggestion.

When looking for an SEO firm to work with, you can use these 3 questions to distinguish the experts from the scammers.

I have modified this section and here it is -

Do you really think SEO is DEAD?

I know you have a very straightforward answer –“YES”. It’s very obvious because you have invested enough time and hell lot of cash on it already and at the end of the day you have got nothing on the table! If I were in your situation, I would have also started to believe the same thing –SEO is DEAD and I am the stupid one who has already spent some good cash on this hopeless venture.

But do you know that SEO is still very much effective and it is an inevitable part of your online money making effort. Now the obvious question comes to your mind is- Why The Hell I have Not Seen Anything Positive After Draining Out $$$$ Of Cash? I can understand your frustration! But I am really sorry to say that you have spent your money on a wannabe or amateur SEO provider.
Yes, that’s the problem! Current market has got over flooded with thousands of amateur SEO providers who have very little knowledge about Online Marketing.

Very recently I saw an advertisement on a very reputed forum and that advertisement really made highly curious. It was something like - “Get number 1 position in Google by using our very effective SE0 service-only $50” and I immediately contacted the service provided and got to know that this guy builds some software made web 2.0 properties, social bookmarking and some other types of spammy backlinks in first tier and in second tier he uses thousands of wikis and spammy blog commenting backlinks.

Well, this is the secrete of getting number one position in Goole according to him. It’s good for him as long as he can make his innocent clients believe so!
And now I can see that you too have been one of innocent clients of such type of SEO services and that’s the reason why you are still trying your luck online and cursing SEO!

All it is important to get an expert and highly effective SEO service.
the experts will lead you to more sales and profit by putting your business in the spot light on Google's 1st page where anyone looking for your service or product will easily find you. They know how to rank websites, they've been doing it for years, and they stand behind their work. When looking for an SEO firm to work with, you can use these 3 questions to distinguish the experts from the scammers.---it is your section and it is looking good here

It is not your fault. Selecting an effective SEO provider could be a very tricky job if you do not know how to do it.

Well, the procedure is very simple. Trust me!

It is nothing but an interview of 3 questions. This short interview procedure will definitely help you best to bring out the best boy in the class!

Now place your questions and answer here and I personally feel the answers should be more elaborated because most of the people have no idea about link wheel, blog commenting, panda penguin etc and that is the reason you should write the answer in an elaborated but to the point manner. If you want to know how then I can tell you.

The most important part is make people understand why your service is unique and what more you can offer. Try to catch the emotional side of your viewers. Make them understand that you are always available for them and you are the best at your own domain.

I agree with you that most of the people would love your straightforward approach ---“no I cannot place your website to the number 1 position within 1 week or 1 month. If this is what you want then I am not your cup of tea!” and now it is time to show them that they are just believing in a false commitment given by a money hunger, amateur SEO provider. This is the most important part of your advertisement because here you have to gain the trust of your readers.

Now finally it’s time to behave like a professional. There is a famous dialogue said by joker in Batman- Dark Knight movie and the dialogue is- “If you are good at something, never do it for free” ..Yes, you are the best at this job and for you charging something like below $xxx means doing the job for free. You get what you pay for. If you are expecting a very sophisticated, money generating SEO service then you have to pay decent money because your SEO strategy is very effective and different (you have already told why your service is unique and what are benefits of hiring you) . So now you have to show them what they are paying to you is really worth for the service they will get.

Now it is time to put your 30 minutes of SEO consultation offer! Make sure it is written with large fonts and it should be high lightened. Make it a special deal because you are providing 30 minutes of highly valuable SEO consultation free of cost which is actually worth of $99 in this current market.

This is my idea.....I would be really happy if this can benefit you a little.

May I ask what may be a dumb question?

If I'm looking for SEO services to help me achieve first page rankings why would I hire someone from a Craigslist ad? Instead I would look for an SEO service provider who is able to rank on the first page of search engine results with their own service offering.

Or am I just missing the point?
