I have a list of 4000 which are in the weight loss niche. What Now?

Hi Guys,
So I got my hands on a responsive list of 4000 people from a company I did some work for offline. I am nervous as I have always just done offline marketing and have little experience in Email Marketing, although I have a huge swipe file. I want to send an affiliate offer to them. Have you any advice to make sure conversions are good??

I was just thinking about putting together a really attractive email promoting a Fat Loss Product, or would it be adviseable to give some free information first and then start promoting offers?

If these people on the list don't know who you are, then you should build a relationship with them first before you start promoting offers.

Maybe start with a storyline to help them get to know / like / trust you.

Maybe put a survey in there asking what they are currently struggling with, what they fear or what frustrates them, and then what they're ultimate goal in terms of lifestyle is.

This will help you know exactly where they are at and which offers they will respond best to.

For example if they are kind of average and just want to lose a few pounds, then they'll likely respond best to offers that appeal to vanity.

If they are more obese and worried about their health, then their goal isn't to get six pack abs or a bikini body, but rather to just get back to baseline and be a "normal" person who doesn't get stared at and snickered at whenever they leave the house.

But the main take away you should get from this is to know your list intimately, know what makes them tick and how you can best serve them.

    Hope this helps.

Some Great Advice, Because I have not had any interaction with these people before, what would be a good way of introducing myself, I think that is my main concern for this

        You have a few problems:

        1. You don't have permission from them to email them. You'll have to lie to mail them through icontact.

        2. You have no relationship with them. Why would they buy anything you say?

        3. You aren't a copywriter. Why would they open or take action on your email.

You have a list of 4000 nothings.

Nobody. He's right. And has the track record to prove it. You have no idea do you.

Here are some tips to make sure your email conversions are good. First, create a sense of urgency and personalized subject line for your mail to make recipients open the email as soon as possible. Second, do remember follow CAN-SPAM LAW and minimize images when do HTML design for your email. Last but not least, you ‘d better include contact information in email to make recipients easy to contact you if they have questions or problems.

Assuming you have permission to email to them, start by telling them a story about you that has relevant lessons they can use woven into it.

That way, they learn who you are and get value from your emails.

And I would literally just give them those survey questions I listed in my previous reply. Those always help me learn how an audience ticks.

If you don't have permission to email them, then, as others have said, you may have some other problems cut out for you.
