I Hate Hearing About the SRDS !!!

I've been taking several adcopy courses, John Carlton and Dan Kennedy, just to name a few. They all claim that local libraries have the SRDS. Well, I have covered everywhere from Lexington, KY to Cleveland and nobody has any of the copies of the SRDS, and if they do, they are very outdated.

I have even checked out University Libraries, and nada! ( You have to go to school there, anyway top use the library system.) Can someone please tell me which libraries EXACTLY have this????

I can't help you with the SRDS, but if you were wanting it more for curiosity or research than actually renting a list, this might help:

The link that Andrew posted is a good one, we use that site a lot for our preliminary research.

    Here's the deal:

The SRDS stopped publishing their printed catalog recently. From here on out, it's online access only. Most libraries aren't springing for the online access because it's so expensive and almost nobody walks into the library asking for this.

But don't get tripped up thinking you need the latest version. If you have access to an older printed version, that's fine. Use it, find some lists that look good and then contact your list broker for the latest numbers. Feel free to PM me if you need further help.

    Hi Elmo,

We're sorry to hear you're having trouble finding SRDS at your local library. What is your general area or zip code? I can take a look to see if any libraries near you subscribe to SRDS.

      Thank you, Michelle (and welcome!)

Would love to know about any S. Florida libraries that subscribe.

Use InfoUSA. You get a free trial with your first 150 leads free. Their information is the most dependable I've used and well worth the bucks, even when you're paying for it.

    Hi there,

You can get copies on eBay:

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/Books-/267/i...=R40&_nkw=SRDS

They don't currently have any of the regular editions, but if you set up an alert you'll find ones that are no more than a couple of years old being listed.

    All the best,

    Sasha.
