Makes me miss Texas. I refuse to grow the chest hair required to purchase this truck, though.

  • Does this confuse anyone else?

Sure, it's pretty good writing. But I thought the whole point of copywriting was to be succint, to the point, focus on the benefits.

Sure, storytelling (with an undercurrent of humour) is a great tactic. But to me, this reeks of "hey, look at these awesome writing skills I've got!", rather than "here's what I've got, and here's why you should buy it."

Throw some responses at me, I wanna hear what other copywriters think.

This guy, is selling an image in his ad. He does state, some benefits, but its more of the image that is appealing. The tough, macho guy is who he is selling his story to.

The benefits, of his ad are...how fast this car can go and the benefit of that and some other minor stuff. His story-telling is awesome, It could be a hit or miss based on who fits the image of his story...

It's not confusing. His target group knows what all those terms mean.

What I like about the ad is how the owner positions himself. The guys in his target group would enjoy hanging out with him - the likeability persuasion trigger in action.

WTF. Are you drunk? The point of good copy is to be ON TARGET. It's a Craigs List ad. It sticks out like dogballs. He's right on the money.

You don't think he focuses on the benefits? Go and read it again.

BTW I know exactly what he's talking about. I had one of these beasts for a fencing business I owned. They're bullet-proof and a lot of fun to drive.
