Frank Kern Really Knows His Marketing

I was just thumbing through some old internet marketing websites in my favorites directory, and I happened to click on the link for Frank Kern's site:

Frank Kern

I don't know what you think of Mr. Kern.

Personally, I do like the way he does videos, though overall I'm not that impressed with some of his, er, shall we say, 'history'.

I have to say, that offer on the main page of his site is probably the most compelling 'squeeze page' offer I've EVER seen. It's not that the copy is that great or anything--I think it does the job, nothing more--it's moreso the offer he's chosen to go with. It's essentially a 'free consultation' at bottom, but he frames it to look like so much more. And the whole "$1400 refund if I waste your time" thing is the ultimate in sacrificing short term value for long term gain.

What do you think?

    Lots of white space. Simple.

    Nice job.

The offer is for details, not the actual consultation.

Wasn't Frank one of the first big time "gurus" that inspired all of us to try out joining the big leagues? I believe Kern has a huge following. I remember listening and watching his videos and thinking 'Just get to the point'. But then I think that of any sales-y internet marketing thing. To be able to sell a course for thousands is a feat in of itself.

    The copy's simple and fascinating.

I've set aside some time to talk to you, personally.
This statement itself packs a huge punch. It implies that Frank is a busy person, and his time is scarce - subconsciously, the reader thinks that his time is valuable.

    work with you collaboratively
If you enjoy the conversation and get value from it, we can discuss working together long term.
All of these above build a perspective of a no-pressure, non-needy kind of sales proposal. Which also builds on his case as a busy person who deals seriously.

And if you feel I've wasted your time in our conversation, I'll send you a check for $1,400.00 as compensation.
    A really bold guarantee.

I personally think the guarantee fixes the deal.

Frank launched a course teaching this model recently.

I signed up for it, the content is really good.

    He's making $175000 p/m, working 3 hours per day.

I've already flipped 3 of my clients over to this model.

I provide done-4-you marketing services which takes up "way" more than
3 hours per day. Frank doesn't offer this as standard, for $9,800 per month.

Nice gig if you can get it.

Ah, that explains what I received in my email this morning... a link to the same PDF (with minor changes) that Frank wrote.

The sender must be one of his students.

I think that James Fame explained it best, with the details he used.

    Good points James . . .

  • In my humble opinion...I think it is one of the best squeeze pages on the entire inter web.

Looks great, copy is spot on and the offer is irresistible.

And it's refreshing to see a squeeze page that doesn't howl and scream with gaudy red graphics, big pointy arrows and massive "press, press, press" buttons.

I think the good people prefer an intelligent, empathetic personal letter style.

Bet the response is off the charts good.

P.S. Also nice to see it breaks the supposed "golden rule" by having the "opt in" below the fold. It would have ruined the entire piece if it was above.

The reason? it gives the good people a chance to read the copy, then decide to get more information. Rather than being press-ganged before they know what the "deal" is.

  • "Press - ganged" - to force or coerce.

In the age of the inter web it means trying to grab the good peoples email addresses before they have a chance to find out what the website is trying to sell them.

Bit like a salesperson knocking on the door saying -

Salesperson - "Buy my stuff why don't you?"

Beleaguered Consumer - "Wtf are you selling?"

yes everyone seems to be amazed at the page and I must say I am too at how simple yet attractive it is along with the offer.

But does anyone know what it converted at?
