"Would you pay a penny to have an ideal prospect see your ad?"

This is a headline for a lead generation ad. On a scale of 1-10 what do you think? Thanks for any feedback.

    Not feeling it. 4.

This might be a 7, off the top of my head: "When's the last time you bought high-quality, converting leads for just a penny?"

I'm sure others could do better

Thanks but your headline would be unbelievable and impossible to deliver on.

My mistake. Substitute "ad impressions" for "leads" and that should correct it.

The point was to put a little oomph into the presentation.

Nobody cares if "ideal prospects see their ads"

They want to know if they are gonna sell enough of their shit to buy that new car they've had their eye on. Sell them on the quality of the prospects, not the fact of them. Say something to get them a little excited.

But only if you've got the goods. Otherwise you'll just disappoint them.

It's a benefit headline with no emotion. Might work.

I don't like it. The headline makes the reader stop and think... "How much would it cost me to put my ad in front of x number of prospects?"

I'd prefer a headline that gets the prospect emotionally involved.

Can you actually deliver on that headline? Or is it just hypothetical?

If you can deliver, you should just come out and say it.

I like it but I would say "a penny each" to be clear. And yes, we can deliver. They're hyper-targeted display ads at $10 per thousand impressions.

That would be my question, which means I'd read the ad out of curiosity so I think the headline does the job. It would be up to the opening and the offer to turn it into a sale. Then again, I'm always looking for a good lead broker so it's relevant. Headlines are really about joining a conversation that's present in the reader's mind, not about flash.
