"It's the offer, stupid"

If you have kids, you'll relate to this (or, if you just want more sales)...

The wife, kids, & I woke up early to eat at this super duper famous breakfast spot in Waikiki called Eggs N Things the other day.

Now, I've been waiting 3 trips to finally get here. Usually, we just wake up too late. The place has a 2 hours wait by 8 a.m. Seriously.

So, you can imagine how pissed I'm at my 3 year old when he goes nuclear because he can't have cookies for breakfast.

Our little guy is little pounding the floor, and then gets collapses onto the floor. Everybody is looking me and my wife like we should be on "Super Nanny". (btw, we probably should be!)

The waitress comes over, looks at us, and says, "You need to bribe him."

She grabs Evan's hands while lifting his body off the floor, and says "You can want to color?"

He nods.

She brings the canyons and paper.

She turns to me and says, "Bribery, works every time."

A 50+ waitress with wisdom just overflowing.

Somewhere I could hear Rick Duris saying "It's the offer, stupid!"

If your client is NOT buying, remember to review the offer.

Yes, copy is important.

Yes, the list is important.

Yes, price is important.

But, remember to check out the offer!

Would it stop a screaming kid, and turn him into a polite little man?

Or, for you Warriors, would your offer get a newbie on his last $7, ready to pay you?

Now, here's some fast, cheap, and effective ways to increase your WSO offer without having to do any "real work":

  • audio record your wso, and offer as a mp3
  • offer a one page cheat sheet
  • offer a 15 minute consult
  • offer a VIP webinar at XX/XX/XXXX date
  • offer a hotseat
  • offer a done for you

you get the idea.

What little thing can you add, that has enough perceived value, will make somebody hit the "send money now" button.

Adam, I've seen where a split test was carried out
with offer v's proof that goods were legitimate.

I think you know which won.

Marketing Experiments did the split test
        for Cook Travel.

The control was the existing offer.

The challenger was added emphasis on the offer
        being more believable.

        The challenger won by 48%.

The test result is buried somewhere deep within their archives.

      Rick,

I find it so funny that a little bonus' often triggers a sale.

Sometimes ones that never get used!

My wife & I bought a $2,000 mattress because the sales lady included a mattress protector that probably cost her $10.
