If you were John Kerry, you would _________

If you live under a rock, then you've missed Obama asking congress for authorization to kill some naughty people somewhere in the middle east.

Obama's Billy Mays is John Kerry.

He's building a case to go kill some naughty people because they killed their own citizens. And America is Big Angry Daddy ready to send the bad guys into a very long time out.

The question for you direct marketers with an interest in copy is, how would you present the "overwhelming" proof that naughty tyrants used chemicals to kill little poor kids.

Seems like Russia and China aren't buying the "proof" being offered so far.

Neither are a majority of Americans. (side note: most america's don't care if naughty leaders gassed little kids. Remember, WIIFM is always playing in our heads.)

So, what would you do to prove your case?

Adam

p.s. If the president of the US has problems demonstrating proof, then consider what this means for us marketers. The market is distrustful.

Warriors want to believe in spite of that fact they know most wsos are crappy. Yet, because their desire for a better life outweighs things like logic, warriors buy crappy wsos.

Hope, inspiration, vision.... SELL. Sell possibility!!!! Not probability. Works only on newbies. Experienced warriors will trade upside potential for "almost" guaranteed limited upside. And it doesn't need to be much!!!!

p.p.s. Many wso's start off with hundreds of replies from warriors as "proof". Most don't read it. They just want to see lots of text. Newbies.

Experienced people want case studies of people JUST like them having success.

Sorry Adam, but you're spitting upwind on this one.

    Two points:

    1. Newbie and experienced alike buy on emotion.

    2. Testimonials of people who have just bought do better than result testimonials. Reason... they more closely match the prospect's current state-of-mind as he's reading (or viewing) the sales copy.

      Alex,

      Good points.

      Both valid.

I'll need to do some more thinking on this one.

Perhaps I've become my own market. Which isn't good.

Emotion does motivate the buyer to look for a solution. That I'm 100% behind.

I'm just trying to translate that into my core business of tax and accounting.

Something to think about for me.

      Thx.
