Im selling a generator on eBay and thought I would try my hand at some copy writing:

        It's not fine. People who don't like to fix stuff will not read on.

        Put the "damaging admission" further down in the copy, where the reader will see it after the pitch has been fully made. At that point, he might want it bad enough that he'll buy it anyway. Especially if you "trivialize" the damaging admission.

        I'm not giving you this advice as some schlub who just walked in off the street... I've been doing this stuff for a while.

    The biggest problem with eBay listings is generally not the copy, but the headline.

    The headline is what draws in potential buyers thus making the copy meaningless until someone actually clicks through to the listing. Sometimes a headline with just the item will work, but it depends on the niche.

    The only way you will know is to test.

    Headlines sell items. Make sure it grabs attention, and if it's an expensive item then make sure there's a good subheading.
