Why do you like copywriting?

Just curious to see why anyone would want to write things most people throw out. For me, I'm fascinated by the thought of convincing someone to do something with my words. And if the copy is written well, If the reader enjoyed reading it, I'm sure the writer enjoyed writing it. Your reason?

To me it's the structure of a good argument. The language needed to transfer an image that connects with the reader. It's fascinating to me.

    For me...

Copywriting embraces something I've always been fascinated by: Emotional Connection.

When I successfully command the ability to emotionally connect with my audience - by speaking to a person's circumstances, desires, needs, fears and dreams...

    ...it feels fcuking amazing.

    Words are powerful.

Clearly communicating the intention behind them is even more powerful.

    And together...

    It's almost magical.

Seriously. I'm not being weird, woo-woo or sappy.

Being able to find just the right tone, perspective and execution of circumstance/emotion is like nothing else...

...except for maybe really, really good sex.

  • The best part for me is coming up with a "big idea." I also like the blend of logical arguments and compelling stories.

To be frank, I don't like copywriting. I dislike communicating via text. However, I enjoy the psychological manipulation / emotional connection aspect of in-person sales, and good copy is very similar to good sales.

  • The real thrill is finding a client who has some really good stuff.

And who (almost) more than life itself wants the customers to have a breathtakingly good experience.

It makes writing the copy a sheer pleasure.

I like creating something out of nothing. Taking a basic idea, maybe even a thought and going through the entire creation process from start to finish. The big payoff for me is not the paycheck (though that's always a very nice bonus); but when someone looks at my copyrwriting work and says, 'Wow! This is really good!' The respect and admiration that comes from others for knowing how to write well is worth more than money to me.

  • Copy Writing, you may share your thoughts or catch readers attention. You can just write and share whatever you may want to share or express your feelings, sometimes your doing this without knowing that there are readers who follow your writings, who loves to read whatever your writings are about.
For me there's nothing wrong with this, its just how you express your thoughts.

the ability to use your words/communication to help others is an amazing experience.

To me, copywriting is showing others how they can improve their lives, get out of pain, solve their problems, make their life better.

So, in order to do that, you gotta write copy for products that TRULY do make the world a better place.

It's pretty tough to write copy, for me, otherwise.

I find it incredible that you can use the power of words to persuade someone to do something that's in their own best interests.

THAT is why I love copywriting... I'm able to help so many people, in an indirect kind of way, to help them live better, solve problems, etc...

If a product is incredible and it really helps someone, I take it as my responsibility, as a copywriter, to relate that value to prospects... to show them how it will improve their lives.

    I like communication.

I like learning about new things.

    I like people.

Copywriting, to me, is a combination of all three.

All of these people are giving silly excuses, DON'T LIE TO YASELF!

Copywriting is easy for the people whom are gifted with words, if you could make a living off of something you can do so easily (I personally enjoy it) why not do it?

    It's two-fold for me:

    1) I come from a classical music background. Thus, I appreciate the art of simple, effective writing.
    2) The challenge of writing something that inspires someone to action is thrilling.

When I write, I want to make an emotional connection to my reader. For me, getting feedback is the best part, finding out I've impacted their life in some way.
