emotional triggers for social media?

hey guys,

i'm writing some copy for a social media event, and all the copy i'm seeing out there focuses on the usual stuff like "huge traffic", "build followers", "make sales".

i'm convinced there are deeper emotional triggers but i'm having trouble really identifying what they are.

if YOU had to pick just one big emotional trigger that would influence someone to start using social media or rethink their strategy, what would it be?

thanks in advance!

People who frequent social networks want to make a social connection with others; to reach out and find others so they feel they belong to a community. Some of these people are lonely, others just bored. Find a way to target that motive and you are likely to get a better response on your offers.

An effective trigger can be the need to connect with old (and long lost) friends and relatives.

Obviously there is a lot of triggers for each of those, but as an example lets look at the sales side of things.
Don't focus directly, or use the words, on "how to make sales", but rather focus on why they aren't making sales or why sales could be better. Business owners have doubts and second guesses about whether their business is doing as well as it could be, so don't just offer a quick answer to a generalized question, play on their doubts directly.

I agree with ElusiveEnd. If you are targeting people who aren't having success with social media, use the the reasons why they aren't having success. I think a good emotional trigger to use is community but you exaggerate it more than that.

Talk about how these people will have intimate and active followers. They will know their customers better than ever because of the close-knit community they can build. Comparing the present with "future pacing" then the way they get the result is by your event.
