My Blog: Ditch or Grow?

Hello all

I have been reading through the posts here and have a wholesale/general business blog which ij just s few months old.

I would like to generate a revenue from selling online and have come to realise after launching the blog that it probably isn't focused enough on one niche.

I'm wondering if the blog I have could be changed to give focus and then develop a revenue stream or whether I should look at a new project al together. I could keep my blog going to help promote the new project.

Could someone cast their eye over my blog and give some feedback at all?

Modify maybe, its really hard to tell what your blog is for.

I can't tell what you are advertising by reading the wording in your header graphic, then your adsense ads show for work at home and i phone cases and i can't tell by looking at the images running down the side what they are supposed to do.

If they are blog posts, they don't seem to have much to do with a wholesale business and whatever you are using for featured images is cropping the images so they are not relevant for the post. Isn't there are way for you to load a set of thumbnails for display?

I would keep it but narrow it down to a point.
I think the dropshipping/wholesale purchase/ecommerce niche is certainly one that can be grown and used to earn an income.

Wholesaling in particular can be a bit ambiguous when it comes to finding decent information, so if you did narrow it right down to that in particular and know your stuff about it, you could definitely earn from it.

Provide articles on finding wholesalers, how to negotiate with them, shipping and handling procedures for buying wholesale etc... One monitization method could be to offer a paid e-book or report offering lists of good wholesalers for various niches or products

That huge ad hit me like a sledgehammer.

If I'm on your site, I'm trying to learn about the wholesale business. I don't want to be sold to.

A huge ad above the fold is going to give you a very high bounce rate.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

    Just one quick comment:

I suspect a lot of people who visit your site may never read your articles.

Have you ever heard of the concept of "designing above the fold"?

Basically, most people who visit a page never even scroll down, so you need to make sure all the most important concept appears near the top of the page.

You need to scroll down pretty far to see the articles on your site.

Since you seem to be promoting affiliate offers, it's crucial that people read your articles, which I would doubt many are doing now.

    Thanks all

Andrew......yes I have recently heard of above the fold and I am looking for a new design that will take away the large slider and place the content right at the top.

Ghoster.... I think you may be talking about the sliders at the top also, these are featured articles but again I have decided to take these away and let the reader get into the information right away

Elusive and JMichael. You have confirmed what I thought really, it is a bit of a mish mash and needs focus

    Thanks again everyone

Terrible layout. So focused on affiliate click bait and
the cartoon person, it's impossible for me to take seriously.

Focus on content. Put it right up there in front, above
    the fold.

If the niche interests you, then keep it and make it good.
If the niche bores you, ditch it.
