How much should I expect to pay for an Amazon.com product description?

I'd like to hire a good copywriter to write the description for my Ebook over at Amazon.com. That said, how much should I expect to pay for this? (I doubt the description would need to be more than 400-500 words. The Ebook itself is 11,000 words).

The other option, of course, is that I could write it myself and then hire someone to edit (or rewrite) the copy for me. I assume this would be significantly cheaper, true?

Any advice?

I'm a new copywriter so I'm looking to build a portfolio, so if you're interested, let me know. However, I'd like to know what the book is about first, so could you let me have a brief description (e.g. title, subject area, overall book subject).
