Email Marketing Subject Line Questions

I am new to email marketing and have read the subject line is by far the 1st and most important thing to get your email opened.

What percentage of a open rate is rated as successful? The best open rate I have received thus far is 24%.

Days, times to send advertisement emails I have studied as well.

Any help with any of this will be much appreciated fom this Warrior Forums Rookie!

I must say this is interesting. What really baffles me is the Open Rate on Sunday being higher then any other day. I have read Tues-Thurs and that has been across the board.

Why Sunday I ask? What businesses are reading emails sent to their business on a Sunday? That is all my emails are going to is businesses.

Let me add to that in that I represent a Wedding Magazine. My goal is to try and get Wedding Businesses to advertise and list their business in our magazine. So my emails are going out to all types of wedding businesses, i.e., caterers, djs, venues, etc.

A lot of what is put "out there" is simply regurgitated stomach goo.

One guy says it, so another guy repeats it.

Or as we used to say down home, "Grandma taught it, and he bought it".

Test and track YOUR emails for YOUR business. That's the only reliable measure.

To take what Alex said a step further... I don't even ask others any more, I just test it. What's the point of asking someone else, who is NOT your customer, and probably NOT in your business or market.

Sure, it helps to ask others when you have zero clue.

But if you have an actual sustainable business... and it's bringing in an income, and you've got traffic... why ask others?

Just test it. Anything you want to know, just test it.

Of all the multi-million dollar marketers I know... pretty much none of them will sit there and ask other marketers. Sure, some do... and they will brainstorm and join each other in masterminds.

But for the most part, they'll stick it out there, in the real world, and get real world feedback and results. they'll throw it at the wall and see what sticks.

Let the market tell you, with their wallets. Often times, that will tell you quicker and more accurately than asking someone else.

but again, this applies to those with active, sustainable businesses that get enough traffic to test.

If you're new or just starting... then of course it helps to ask others, find a mentor... but for just about any decent biz... just test it. From what i've found over the years, most of the time the answer I got from the marketplace was different than what people on a forum or message board would tell me.
