Why do all this when you can just hire someone on Fiverr to set up your landing page for you?

    Wow, just what I needed.

Fiverr landing page is exactly why people are not getting results. This stuff requires actual effort.

Yeah, I'm currently in the process of doing a ppc campaign using a squeeze page that was done by a fiverr and the copy from another fiverr and that thing is bombing right now.

On a side note, I'm a little peeved at wf. I tried posting my thread about this exact issue and it wouldn't do anything. I thought it might be a matter of processing or something and here I see this thread posted.

Anyway, I'll take a look at your squeeze and see what I can advise (or learn).

    Damn good share...

You'd like to think that a lot of that would be refresher material for most folks on here... but...

I have actually read a ton of stuff about landing pages and this post is not bad at all. In fact to make sure that you're having the right landing page, I'd get one done using this article and another one done by someone on Fiverr and run a split test on Google Analytics. There was a program that would do that for you but I'm just missing the name of it right now. It runs two different designs on the same page and the analytics takes the results of both pages, leaving you with the final result on which one is the better in converting your visitors to actual buying customers.

Clearly sarcasm doesn't work too well on this forum.

DO NOT hire someone off Fiverr to do your landing page. I was joking when I posted that.

If you want to see why it's a bad idea, check out this result http://www.warriorforum.com/copywrit...ge-bombed.html

Good example of what not to do, but Shawn's post is a great example of what you should do.

I took a look... What are you selling? It's not 100% clear. As the consumer, I don't know what you're offering or why I should act (what the benefit is to me and why I should do something right now). Then, when I tried to scroll, a very annoying pop-up came up that I couldn't get rid of unless I clicked a rather insulting, "No thanks I create ugly landing pages" or something like that.

My guess is too many distractions and mental clutter and not enough benefit-driven text with a clear CTA.

Um...I'm not selling anything. I'm pointing you to an excellent article on landing pages. As the author says...
I identify where websites are leaking money and help fix them.....

This blog is all about getting more results from your website.
The title of this thread was just to get your attention. The regulars here get it - hence the "Thanks". Looks like you didn't even bother to read the page. Too bad. It's brilliant. Perhaps you should learn the difference between a "landing page" and a "blog post".

I agree about the annoying pop-up though.

      (Wanders off muttering "this place"...)

You see my pointing you to a resource as a "bait and switch tactic"???? Bizarre. Do you even know what a "bait and switch" is?

Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud used in retail sales but also employed in other contexts. First, customers are "baited" by merchants' advertising products or services at a low price, but when customers visit the store, they discover that the advertised goods are not available, or the customers are pressured by sales people to consider similar, but higher priced items ("switching").
Anyway...here's another good resource - courtesy of Joe Golfer - nothing to do with me (apart from the fact I've done stuff for the owners Ryan Deiss, Perry Belcher and Frank Kern) - 43 Split Tests That Boost Conversions

How's that for a "bait and switch"?

For fear of getting my head bit off..... When I 1st looked I thought how boring the 1st image and paragraph are... and is there such a thing as a Step Zero? But its concisely laid out and fairly easy to follow, albeit long...Not sure I would make it to Step 6 but I would be more inclined to get to step 5, and then if there was a click for more and I was engaged, I would be more inclined to click for the 2nd page. I just find long pages overwhelming before I have begun.....so it might put some people off, or maybe its just me . Really good content though.

Yes was aware of that, but still feel my points were valid. Lots of people on here swear by constructive criticism

Who are you trying to give constructive criticism to? The site you're critiquing has nothing to do with anybody on this forum.

  • That is quite a great resource! Its quite hard to find good quality info on landing pages. Especially about ones that isn't all Hype.

    Definitely bookmarking this one
