Would this hurt or increase conversions?

Hello fellow warriors

I would like to know if you think having the picture of the product and a small header in the left corner of the PayPal check out window would hurt or increase conversions based on your experiences.

Its an e-book digital download.

Thank you for your time and I really appreciate it.

Personally I'd split test it to see what the difference is. Try the header image for a week and then try without the header for a week.

These things can be tricky - on one hand a visualisation of the product gives the impression of buying something physical/tangible but on the other hand people are used to the way the 'official' PayPal checkout page appears so might not have the same confidence if the page looks different to how they expect to see it.

It's not a big change adding and removing the header so testing the pros and cons with your audience/customers is the safest way to be sure.

Split test it. But I'd put my bucks on having the image. In my experience, continuity during the checkout process can make or break the post sales page conversion.

      Ok thanks I appreciate it.

Have you seen increase in conversion by doing this or heard about an increase?

Would it be better if I added "Limited Copies Available"

  • I certainly agree with everyone who said split test. Its the only way to know for sure.

One other thing I've been experimenting with is having a hand "Present" or "Give" the product to the person on the order page. So far I don't have enough data for firm numbers, but the drop out rate has decreased about 3% in a small test.
