Yeah, that's what I was wondering. I would love to see what the actual emails or ads said.

For those interested in seeing who they're marketing a free sample too, do a site search on Google. You'll see they have a dedicated page for each publication/person/website they extend the offer too & there are many.

I just read this looking for samples. Do you guys honestly think it's that good?

I think the premise is great. But the execution... It just feels a little sloppy, full of distracting punctuation that impedes the flow at the start. Throughout the word choice just feels that touch 'off'.

Might just be me. What do you guys think?

  • the shocking thing here is that there are people who are actually that interested in olive oil.

some of the chunky paragraphs lost me. and the long winded sentences.

I love his job intereview success letter. That pulled me right in

This is going in the swipe file never the less. so thanks mate.

I'm inspired to see that it comes in at an average 10.8 grade level reading in the readability index.

My copy samples sometimes rank about that, and I'm always thinking that's too high. ...So first thing I do when checking out swipes is plug them into the readability index. Comforting to know that copy from even some of the greats reads "erudite."

Some of the passages in this piece rank 12.8 average grade level reading.

On another note, I wouldn't have thought that readers of "Independent Living News" (which looks like a doomsday prep survivalist mag) would be a great market for $40 per bottle gourmet olive oil.

Mature wealth markets don't mind the higher reading level.

Have you practiced editing your copy in a tool like readability-score.com? It's a godsend.

Oh yeah, I'm there all the time. Most of my samples are also written for a market with a higher reading level but still, I try to keep my copy as easy and conversational as possible.

I've seen PPC ads for this fairly recently. Can't remember the ad network, but if they're still marketing you've likely been cookied since visiting the page, so keep your eyes peeled.

Ha, check out top referring sites. Looks like they get a lot of traffic purely because Bencivenga wrote the copy:
